I made sure to be going in a straight line or close to it and it still twitched to the side on me... very interesting...suspension cant come too soon...
Bump steer?

Yeah I had to get off the brakes immediately and get back on quickly before the weight went to the back again. Felt almost like a rear wheel lockup. Like the suspension isn't setup correctly. Just felt like the front loaded up and the rear got light to the point of snapping a little. Its a little worrying since I have a pair of 130 down to 90mph corners at my local track. My STI felt PLANTED, could almost just go flat through them, but if this car is doing this while just driving spiritedly on the street then something should be done.

I will let you know how the trackday goes on Sat. I just signed up.

Understeer? Lol I am yet to see even a hit on understeer in this car. Thats what Im loving the most so far.

Oil coolers are good to keep things safe, but I have never seen a car that needed an oil cooler just to run a 20 minute HPDE session. My STi never had oil temp issues in 2 years of HPDE's and I never had an oil cooler on it.

Like I said, it seems like a band aid for a problem rather than a solution to why this is happening.

wow reading this thread is somewhat depressing! Dejavu of 335 + oil cooler + limp mode long long discussions!

what i would do is go to a local fabricator and get a big *** oil cooler, or even 2 of them!! that's what the guys have done for 335's until BMW made it standard on all 335's

Did oil coolers fix the problem on the 335's?

Another unsolicited review from latest R&T review of 370Z vs. '08 Caymen noted the following. "An observation we made over the week was the VQ's sensitivity to temperature. Engines prefer cool weather, but the VQ absolutely detests hot days. During the track day, we had to pit after about four laps in each session, the VQ winded by high oil temps and limited by its engine management to 6500 rpm."

This is not a good omen...

Yup...

Travis, could you share with me what you are doing as far as the cooler is concerned? I want to do my own too, but I'm not sure what size core to buy.

I'm having it done by my local shop (not sponsor)... they are building it under their in-house parts division and plan to sell it to the masses after I test next weekend... they've put a lot of time into spec'ing it out, so hopefully it will have the right amount of capacity and be kit'd for clean install... i will post lots of pictures next week when done... will ask them to sponsor here as well...

I talked to another reputable parts mfgr that intends to build a kit also... this thread has gotten some attention!

The edmunds.com article on the 370z mentions an oil cooler and diff cooler available from Nismo. This picture is from the Edmunds website too. It seems most of the test cars given to the press came fitted with these coolers. But these parts don't seem to be on sale from Nismo yet. Nissan better hurry and bring them to the market soon!!!

You might also be interested in the special Nismo parts fitted to this test car: an engine oil cooler mounted ahead of the radiator and this cooler for the limited-slip rear differential.

I got Race brake fluid put in today, somehow the brakes feel like they are more easily modulated. Might have something to do with the consistency or viscosity. There is more usable pedal and that helped the R to F weight shift when slowing down from high speeds.
