Went through Sheldon NWR, crossed into Oregon, and was immediately greeted by a thunderstorm, a loose gravel road, and an 8% grade down 2,000 ft. with large-ish rocks on the road.

Oh, and you can't pump your own gas here.

Pulled in for gas near the hotel for the night and some yellow-toothed, neck-tatted former meth addict walked up and said "I have to pump your gas." I was like "uhh.. thanks, but I'm not gay?"

Drove the Z to my buddies house, then left it there to drive the 650s Can Am to Rally for the Ranch in Columbus. Gonna be weird getting back in the Z after this.

LOL this is why I crossed off Portland for a list of cities to live in. HELL no you are not putting gas in my car. I don't care if it's my Honda.

I am sorry it is too short and small.

Day Three: 11:26 wheel-hours; 582 mi. Met a fellow Z owner and forum member, briefly and coincidentally, at a drive-in burger joint in Bend, OR, but didn't catch his handle. Red '09 Base with a body kit, from Canada. So far I have converted 141.77 gallons of dead dinosaurs into making a joyful noise unto the Lord.

I like how you are doing this with a physical map. You should frame it when you finish the trip and hang it in the garage or something. Dunno if you're headed to Texas, but if you stop in one of the major cities let us know.
---------------
Saturday, I took the car for a wash, noticed the new grille mesh came loose. So, fixed that, decided to polish the headlights, and went ahead and did a quick polish on the pitted front bumper. It looks moderately ok now.

Thanks! I actually have two paper atlases in which I record every road I've ever driven, and the times from various points A to B. Next goal is to find a 6' x 9' map of America, record those routes, and put the damn thing on a wall in my dining room lol

Day Four: 10:25 wheel-hours; 613 miles. Grand Coulee Dam (pictured below) was a beautiful drive. Mt. Rainer, not so much. Was stuck behind a douched-out Mustang who wanted to race, and when I declined, spent 50 minutes working his fart-pipes, yet never once exceeded the speed limit. Didn't want to pass because I knew, for an absolute certainty, that he'd end up crashing into me if I did.

Awesome man this needs a journal!

Ive done a few long distance road trips with the squeeze. Safety was always priority. Yea we got spirited on the tail, open stretches windy stretches and exercised the fast rowing but at the end of the day i still had to get back home.

Its also interesting to see the different folk. Every county/township is different. Keep up the driving! You need to frame that map and add physical print outs and pin them to the map!
