Oh and yeah, they sound awesome :P

thanks for the tips AK. helped out alot

also to enlarge the holes i used one of these bits for my dremel cause i couldn't get the cutter in there properly. it worked way to easily and made a really really nice hole. i recomend it.

If you don't have a spare piece of hose laying around?

Head to over to a nearest auto parts store and buy a small piece and slice it down the middle and wrap the AC line.

It should look like this

It looks like in your picture that you only cut one side of the intake hole to make it bigger. Before i go all Chainsaw Massacre on my car I wanted to make sure I had this down.
A couple of questions:
-Would cutting the hole on the bigger side be better (lots of room for the intake), or do you want this hole to be a snug fit? (I think I saw that if it was tight you would get noise?)
-Is it best to just cut on the inside of the intake hole as you did in the pic, or should I trim both sides?

Thanks for your help,
M

Well I finished the install this weekend. I had a few little hiccups with the clamps, and after looking at the pictures of other installs, I may have put them in the opposite spots. It is done now though and I don't plan on re-doing it any time soon. All together went well thanks to this amazing DIY. I couldn't/wouldn't have had the guts to do it without all the advice. Thank you AK370z, and everyone else who had some tips!

Default Problem or Normal???

Hey I installed my gen 3 intakes today, and when i turn the car off after its been running, i hear a weird sounding noise.."click-click..click-click"only does that sound one time but it does it everytime i shut the car off. Sounds like the throttle body thinks it is getting too much air so its trying to release some pressure after the car shuts off. i dont know if the ECU hasnt reset yet or what the problem is but it doesnt really sound normal. has anyone else had this problem or know what the deal is?thanks if you can help!

Because there are two DIY about Gen3, I post the link:

@Burriss03: Check the left and right screws of the bracket and the A/C Line, look in my post to see where!

I believe they are for fastening the rubber hose on your AC Line. I ended up using double sided tape and finishing with a zip tie on either side of the hose for extra hold.
