2020 Supra... first thoughts

I ended up getting the absolute zero which is gonna go nice with my white infiniti QX

Waiting would not be bad. You can enjoy a test of both while not worrying you have made a bad choice if you dont like the Supra and already own it. Waiting is never a bad thing. They make more of them each day!

as a former Supra owner (mkIII TT), i had high hopes for the new sup... i don't care for the looks of it outside, not enough trd, too much bmw. inside is nice, it fit me well, very Z ish. I'm happy with my Z.

That is almost 2 years old. It was never a long term car from the inception.

If the rumors are true and they make a 6MT version of the Supra and you can have those at MSRP - then I think it will be interesting to cross-shop the Z and the Supra. I feel that you can still score a Supra at MSRP and that the new Z will have ADM on it - making the price point a little closer than if they were both priced at MSRP.

Regardless - the Supra is a beautiful car but I wonder if I would get bored not having a 6MT since I like to row my own gears.

That's a lot of questionable "ifs" from which to draw such a conclusion. My question is why add mt to a platform that is already seeing declining sales numbers yoy AND is scheduled to die in a few model years? The Corvette offered first dagger, and the upcoming Z will provide the kill shot. The Supra honeymoon, brief as it was, has clearly past.

yeah dude, i've always had manual transmissions in my all the cars I've ever owned up until now with the Supra. Supposedly (and this is strictly rumor) in 2023 there's supposed to be a manual Supra. I guess we'll see.

Its funny how some folk talk about declining numbers year over year..

Like the Supra has been out since 2009, and really the only upgrades since 2009 has basically been slight bumper upgrades/LEDs/ and some stickers...

talk about declining numbers.
