Wow, you're such a simple idiot! ![]() Like you said, the numbers don't lie... Now do your research and tell me the monthly sales numbers aren't down drastically "YOY" starting in August '21. Hint: since you'll obviously need help seeking the truth, start with goodcarbadcar.net |

I am not a Supra fan per say but I do have some experience with it. Regardless of published sales number we see more and more of them at the track each weekend. They are a very capable car to on the track. They are fast and handle as well or better than most production two seaters in their class.
The GR 86 will be the end of the Supra because of price point and its capabilities. It will also impact the sales of the Z. Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk

I think the 3.0 Supra and new Z, however, are safe enough from the GR86. They are both 400-ish HP 6 banger coupes that compete in a slightly different market to the ‘low power, low weight, low cost’ GR86, BRZ and MX-5. |

My point was that the 3.0 Supra is in another league entirely (both performance but also price wise) to the GR86, so the other poster's point about the GR86 threatening the 3.0 was off base. The 2.0 Supra, although still in a different price segment, is a far closer match to the GR86 in terms of performance, and is closer in price, so if the GR86 presents any threat to any Supra, it will be to the 2.0. In truth though they probably do attract different buyers. The GR86 is cheap, lightweight, and feels it (I owned a MkI for 5 years so I know how tinny and cheap they felt inside). The Supra is more expensive, heavier, and much more premium (pairing with BMW does pay dividends for interior refinement). Which a person prefers is going to be very personal (and also based on financial situation). As an aside, I'll always have to wonder what the 2.0 Supra is like to drive, because it never came to Australia. Toyota made the decision to only bring the 3.0 Supra here (and made it a AUD100K car so they are rare as hen's teeth hereabouts). My big fear is that Nissan will price match the Supra, putting the new Z out of reach of many local enthusiasts (me included). |

I get numbers ultimately will tell the story if a car is kept in the Automaker's lineup; but...the low numbers don't dictate if a car is a good car. I mean, when I look at the Supra - I see a nice looking 2 seater (might be too small for me - 6ft tall) with a good amount of support in the aftermarket. I do think the Z will cut into new sales IF the Z doesn't go crazy with ADM being added to it.
I know it's not fair to compare the 2 - but wasn't the Z's numbers plummeting quite abit - I know that was due to the design not really changing and a 2009 was basically the same car as the 2020 so why buy new; but still - I feel numbers for sports cars - especially for 2 seaters ultimately don't do well after the initial rush to buy bc its NOT practical and they are typically pretty expensive so the target audience - those in their 20s can't afford it; hence why I see why the new BRZ/GR86 will do well with that crowd. |

For all the rumors about the supra and a manual option...
https://www.cnet.com/roadshow/news/t...ission-option/ I'll be honest, I hated the new supra when it first came out for so many reasons. I'll be the first to admit it has grown on me and the fact that it's coming with a manual definitely stirs the pot with the new Z IMO. Now, I'm sticking with my 370 and going to continue to modify and enjoy it. The car prices are just ridiculous these days. However, I'm just glad the MT is living on and there are options out there. |

Also there are rumours floating around that there may not be that many more years of this car in production. |

I like the new Supra but I really believe it was hyped up more than it's actually worth. You go to car meets and the vast majority of the Supra owners are middle aged guys driving bone stock cars that they probably use to drive to the grocery store on the weekends, far from people I would consider actual car enthusiasts. I'm quite sure most of them own one simply for the name "I own a supra".

Stock or not the Supra is an interesting and capable car overall. If one mod's it good, if not good. Drive and enjoy. |

Do you guys know how many 300zxTT's there were in the 90's. Not that many. The Supra Turbo cars were even less. They both were rare finds. The older folks can afford them now and they are buying them because they were way out of their price range in the 90's. It's all good. Car meets, I rarely go to them. LOL
