Jesus Charles...when you are done, I'll pitch in to get you a patent on the thing....

Looks great, I may order when I will need a dual pump RRP setup....along with more of your work bud!

3D printing is amazing technology. So much that it actually scares me. I have done a lot of 3D printing in the plastic injection molding side of my career, but I have only done very little with it for auto parts. I printed the fuel rails for the GTR for test fit since I had only a short time with the car and the rails are HUGE -8 rails with tight clearances... I didnt have time to make the billet prototypes and their fixturing because the car was leaving soon. So I used rapids to test fit and then sent the car on its way and shipped him finished parts later.

There are applications where 3D printing is great, and its often very cost effective. But for this intake manifold, its actually simple enough for me to print out life scale prints of the manifold on paper and just cut out with scissors and hold up to the car! You would be shocked at how quick and effective that can be! That is how we designed the DE manifold in the area that crosses over the timing chain cover with very tight clearance. Then we machined its outter surfaces out of sheets of MDF glued together to do a physical test fit. The CNC can machine away that stuff so fast and you get a head start on some of your actual part programming.

Thanks! I am finalizing the S2 and S3 versions of the RRP right now. Shipping the first one tonight!

the piece in the photos posted above was scrapped. After I machine out most of the runners inside, I could see that the ports were just slightly off. Initial measurements were CLOSE but not dead on. I started a new one from scratch yesterday. This is much closer, within range for final hand porting. I will measure off it to dial in the next one even better.. but I will use this one.

Getting close to starting an official thread on this and asking for feedback, suggestions, concerns, etc... But not just yet. I want to get a little deeper in. For now, I have to set it aside until next weekend as I have fuel pump modules to design for late Vipers and the 90-95 300zx this week.

I got pricing worked out for casting the runners. Its all good news there. Now I just have to finalize the design. I am thinking about 3D scanning the engine bay so that I can design around the strut bar more efficiently. Its just a question of how much I want to invest into this project before I can get anything back. Intake manifolds are risky too, because you can have a lot invested, and you wont know if they perform until its all done! If it doesnt, then you gotta do it again!

Maybe I should get one of those kickstarter campaigns going lol

if you could design a metal intake manifold i am willing to bet that it would be popular among everyone who wants to boost or run direct port nitrous

id pick one up just so i can do direct port nitrous as opposed to intake foggers

This manifold is already going to be an all metal construction.
