It didn't help that the highway driving we did included a lot of hills and mountains, so the car was constantly loaded in that rev range.

I don't think you will regret the exhaust. It sounds amazing. And if for whatever reason you don't like it, it's not exactly a hard system to sell.

Steve, here is a vid I dug up featuring your setup so the OP might be able to get a listen.
