I deleted mine and honestly, the only difference I can see is that it takes me about 30 more seconds to get the oil to temperature from a cold start. This was after my TT install though, so I was already running with much higher capacity and better cooling from the oil pan.

Now might be a good time to offer more details on the cooling system that was mentioned back in December.

"I spoke with bobby tonight... it looks like they are also going to tackle our cooling system issues. During the initial concept designs they found some reasons why people are experiencing overheating issues. I won't go into details but let's just say that it's pretty ingenious and will help a lot of the track guys. Also stage one will be under $10k out the door. They have mentioned they are going to make a cooling system upgrade kit for resale as well. "

BTW, "out the door" normally means "drive and enjoy". Not sure I would agree it's out the door without a hood or oil cooler.

I must agree, even though you could drive without a hood.

The water/oil cooler actually came out on the 2012. I know, I have one.

Yeah so I believe they are foregoing the cooling upgrades to the motor due to costs. Everyone wants to be out the door less than $10k and the cost of doing the cooling mods would definitely push the kit well over the $10k mark and its pretty labor intensive as in it would be a bitch to do in your garage. They have really pushed to make this a kit you can install in your garage in just a few hours. Flash your ecu and then go for a drive.

It truly is going to be a solid solution. Yeah you may have to cut the hood but in all honesty cutting the hood isn't a big deal for me or a lot of people. the stillen kit for the 350z required you to buy a hood or cut the oem one and they sold a **** ton of kits... now RJ MFG is looking at that and saying to themselves if it worked then it will work now.

We all wish we could get everything for super cheap but how many kits you know of are building everything out of billet aluminum with high precision and using high quality components? There are a ton of short cuts in the current supercharger offerings on the market and from sitting in on their meetings the RJ MFG guys aren't taking any shortcuts. Remember they have to make a profit to recoup costs and to fund new innovations... Lets just say the cost to Manufacture this kit is much much higher than stillen's or gamma! Even when buying in bulk!

They are using all billet AN fittings as well so go look up the price for 12AN billet fittings... $20+ each!!! and there are atleast 3 x 12AN lines in the kit... the intercooler is nearly $1k alone...

So while you guys may question their pricing and model know they are doing everything they can to make this affordable...

They dropped the cooling project completely... it would have redone all of your cooling lines on your motor. A complete overhaul! It wouldn't have been a profitable product due to the overall costs.

If they are dropping it - any chance you guys will release the details? You did call it "ingenious" so the information could be a big benefit to the community.

Quick question on the hood: By any wild chance, are there a few pieces of structural support for the hood frame that might be cut away to make it fit or would this definitely require a hole?

I ask because I ended up having to do that on my old Celica for a custom kit, and other than the missing piece, the hood was plenty sturdy and fit perfectly, no outer hole needed.

The concept is cool, but it's going to be a tough sell. Stillen sold a bunch of superchargers because it was fairly inexpensive and they offered an aftermarket hood option. Even if you offer a hood option for this kit, at 10k it's going to truly be a tough market. I've seen a lot of people wanting to walk out the door installed and tuned at 10k, it's just not feasible. It's a bad *** concept and I do hope they go through with it, however you're in the twin turbo market at this point.

I personally will be in the market for a supercharger eventually and have been looking for another option besides Stillen and Gamma, so this is definitely on my radar. If it can perform as promised and the hood looks good, 10K is not is not unreasonable.

People seem to be bickering a lot about price. Owning a 370Z for starters isn't considered cheap. I expect any forced induction to cost a "certain" amount of money and usually to cost more than anticipated anyway. We should all have massive boners for the fact that a company is producing a kit and hopefully turns out more supportive than GTM. I for one am excited, I expect to pay a, "pretty penny" to eventually boost my Z. It's a fact of life. We don't all own Civics here.
