He's going to hear the engine tick and **** his pants, faulty steering lock problem, oil loss, paint pealing off wheels, bald rear tires from a shitty OEM alignment, a shitty OEM alignment, paint no thicker than a fleas fart...I could go on and on.

OP if you really want a Z, lease it brand new!! My merc was around this cars price and I pay $390 a month. The Z is only $409 for a sport and that's when the 13 was $3600 more than the 14! When I buy it after the lease end and the whole time I'll have a payment I'll have spent about $2000 more than if I were to have just bought it. But low 400's is a lot better than low 600's!! And if in 3 years you hate the car, give nissan the keys and bounce!
On a 30k car you paid 6.67% more over the life of the lease by jumping for the cheapest possible payment. How is that good financial advice? Leasing rarely has the lessee come out on the positive side of the equation unless you can write the lease off as a business expense. Not to mention leasing a car is problematic if you're planning on modding the car.

The point is he is stating his concern. We are all just letting him know that there are plenty of Z's for the same price in much better condition than what he is looking at. Why not wait and do more research for a car you are "happy" with? And I don't know what Z you bought but I have only had the steering lock issue and that was it.

So? Nissan USA and an American bank make some money off me. Its a few hundred a year or a few dollars a month. Least I didn't have to pay over $600 for a car a month which allows me to enjoy even more things in life (other toys, track days, vacations etc etc). I have credit cards and a home. I pay interest on everything. Over years and years I may pay a little extra but I have everything I want right now at this very second. For my happiness I'll gladly pay a little extra to keep people in business and over several years to get what I want now.

In my case no. I ended up a little behind on the Z. But many leases I've come out ahead! Ever see a subi resale value??!! Hell my 12 regal GS had a $2000 rebate on it for early turn in.

And you are 100% wrong about a lease turn in! You never actually turn it into the manufacture. At any point in time during a lease you can sell the car no questions asked. You just pay the balance. During the last thirty days you owe nothing and the majority of the time the residual value is the value so you're all good. Hell sometimes it's less so you have equity in the car. So walk into whatever new or used car dealer you want and trade it in. At that point any mods you have or used to have becomes no different than if you tried to sell your car. The trade in is what it is.

That's terrible long term thinking that will absolutely have consequences down the road. Instant gratification has a very real cost, and it adds up over time.

I'll always take paying less over paying more. Every day of the week. If I can't afford the payment without compromising my lifestyle, then I can't afford the car. Especially when you're looking at paying 5-7% more for the same item.

To each his own. Some people gotta have it now. I've stopped working with numerous clients who had this same problem because I can't fix a financial situation with them undermining it like that. I'll pay more now and retire early.

Sorry OP, we've gotten way, way off track.

Buy it now or be forced to save up over $11,000 for a down payment to match the lease monthly? I don't know about you but I'll buy it now and be happy. If that means $2000 more over the payment period or $250 a year, or $20.8 a month because I didn't save $11,000 cash, then so be it. I don't hear everyone saying credit cards are "really syno?"

I didn't address that because saying credit card debt is bad is kinda like saying water is wet.

It's $400 a month and you don't own the car at the end of the lease, or $600 and you get the title in the mail after the last payment clears. How is that even a comparison?

i'll put it in these terms. you pay for the hooker, get the sex, and in the end she leaves. it's nice but you just end up having to do it again.

I've owned over 20, leased 5-6 and I'm 30. To me I've never had a bad deal. However this Z will be a bad deal but not because I leased, but because nissan dropped the 14 $3600 so from 09-13 we all lost money! And after my lease and buy period, when the cars paid off, it's not like the Z will be worth zero. It may be worth $10,000. So that's $10k cash in my pocket. No big deal brother.

And FYI if my school loans are paid off or the OP gets a raise over the next few years, it's not like I can't pay more a month and pay down that $2000 extra.

in the end you still lose. just saying.

and i highly doubt you've owned over 20 cars unless you either do go through them like hookers or flip cars.

chuck33079 i read your comments and it looks like you know everything out there, maybe because you have many posts out here, but you are totally wrong on lease vs. finance, when i get a chance ( which i have better things in life to do than be here make thousands of comments) i be glad to show you that A GOOD LEASE PROGRAM could be as good or sometimes better than financing, not everyone wants to modified cars and not everyone wants to pay 600 a month payment and not everyone has 10k+ to put down, and some people work hard and want to drive a nice luxury car, there is nothing wrong with that.
since you live in houston, maybe one day we can discuss leasing and financing over a coffee!

you're on the wrong forum if you want to discuss not modding a car.....just saying.

also if a $600/month payment is a issue then you're obviously looking for something out of your price range and need to move on.

leases are for house wifes who dont care what they drive and you just keep them happy with a new car every 24 months or so.

So off topic, Christ, c'mon, let synolimit lease, it's better for some than others, not every thread with him needs to turn into who has the largest cóck and the most cash on hand.

So worthless to argue over time and time again

Sorry OP, we've gotten way, way off track.
Lol Im not financing the federal government. I bought a car and a house. Didn't have cash for either. Its not a big deal I have 2 loans. I'm not instantly gratifying myself with with everything I see. I'm saving $200 a month on a car. That means I pay cash for car parts, track days, savings account etc. you can't tell me your first home was not 30 years. If it was congrats! You don't have one credit card? If you have or had either then you're a hypocrite. I don't think being 30 and needing a home is jumping the gun to buy a house. And what we can afford comfortably was 30 years.

That's you. Congrats for doing that. It's not me. I don't need a $600 car payment. Nothing's wrong with my life style. I had the WRX and the GS the same time at over $1000 a month for everything like insurance etc. I'm doing fine now and I'm happy to be really saving more than $200 a month on this 1 car. PS the wife drives and pays for the merc now.
