Need help!!! With this 370z purchase...PLEASE!!!

I went to a dealer and test drove a silver 370z 09 with 40k f0r $20k and there's an issue that I'm not sure what to think of it since it's a big car purchase I'm doing and I don't want to pay a lot more money to fix if it's a serious problem.

Problem/issues/or me being to anal?:

I opened the trunk to see if the spare tire was there and it was so when I touched the rim it was wet, almost like condensation, and it was pretty good amount of moisture, also the other thing I noticed was that the right tail light had condensation in it. The salesman said that it was just pressure washed.

Is it normal that the spare has moisture since it's right above the metal of the trunk? Oh n the carpet was not wet in the trunk when I touched it

I appreciate all of u in advance n hopefully I can feel the joy or cruising with a 370z

You should be suspicious when there's moisture in places where there shouldn't be any. Over time, it'll be musky if moisture continues. Lights should not have moisture too. Probably opened but not sealed properly. Salesman's giving you bs excuse.

Condensation on any tail/head light seems a bit fishy. Check the vehicle history. And have you ever thought about getting a new Z instead? I think it's definitely worth the extra 10k. Save up a bit more and get it new!!!

Pressure washed huh? Did they take the tail lights out to pressure wash the back sides of them?
Dealer is feeling you BULL

Walk away

I think everybody here's pretty much spot on. Buy a different car from a different dealer.

Lol. guys light seals can leak over time. It's an 09 for crying out loud. If it spent its whole life outside it 100% can leak from hot and cold temps.

As for the wet wheel, it's called condensation. Was the car outside in the cold then heated up? Guess how condensation starts? Please give me a more serious problem.

If you have serious worries, jack the car up. Look at the exhaust bolts and nuts. One look will tell you if it was removed before since that's 95% the first mod.

I agree with everyone above as well!!!! :iagree::iagree: Keep looking!!

Almost all responses here are 100% accurate. Walk away from this Z.

Why even take the chance when he's already doubting the car? He'll forever think something was wrong with it. If you're going to spend that much money you want peace of mind.

I spent 20k on a jacked up merc c300. Nothing was major and it's been great to me. If he worries about a leaky seal and can't fix it, then please buy a Huffy and pedal to work because a Z without issue is asking way to much! He's going to hear the engine tick and **** his pants, faulty steering lock problem, oil loss, paint pealing off wheels, bald rear tires from a shitty OEM alignment, a shitty OEM alignment, paint no thicker than a fleas fart...I could go on and on.

OP if you really want a Z, lease it brand new!! My merc was around this cars price and I pay $390 a month. The Z is only $409 for a sport and that's when the 13 was $3600 more than the 14! When I buy it after the lease end and the whole time I'll have a payment I'll have spent about $2000 more than if I were to have just bought it. But low 400's is a lot better than low 600's!! And if in 3 years you hate the car, give nissan the keys and bounce!

FPenvy 01-31-2014 08:41 AM

Lease? really syno?

Check history of the car, you can check see if it was wrecked, if I don't feel good about something I go look somewhere else, don't let low miles fool you!! There are a lot of 370zs out there, car gurus is a good source to check the inventory around your area and narrow it down to what you want.
