You need to be making 200k a year or more. I'm wiling to bet its a monetary issue more than the car itself haha.

Nissan said the average buyers income is 200 to be comfortable with payments etc.

The Z is lighter, rwd so more rewarding/fun driving experience on the track despite being much slower, cheaper, better fuel economy, and better styled imo.

GT-R would win everything else, faster, more lustworthy, faster, better interior, faster, and 4 seats. Oh, and it's also much faster. :3

You forgot to mention the GT-R is faster.

I plan on owning both. I know for a fact that when I get the GT-R, I will miss that rear end kicking out...

+1......... I have seen more GTR's on the road than the Nismo.

+1........ I absolutely agree with you 110%. I would never ever lease an EFFEN GTR. In my personal opinion I think it is stupid to lease a $100k car & have your monthly car payment $1k plus a month. The maintenance is pretty high on the car as well as the insurance. If you can actually afford the car, then you can afford the maintenance & insurance. If one is looking to buy a $100k car, then one should be making at least $250k. If I’m not making $250k plus, then I would never buy a $100k plus car.

PS Im new on this forum if I need to have this in another thread please let me know.
the ONLY reason why i didnt get the GTR back in 2009 was because i wanted a MT hobby car and something i can drive spiritedly. GTR's are too stable, too fast, too automatic; it would be too boring to drive around here where i am with 95% of the roads being straight and cop infested.

imho GTR's belong on the track. it's not a gorgeous looking thing either... afterall, it is a big lizard from wat i hear.

Why not an M3 or a Mustang as an alternative?

two completely different cars with completely different markets. hard to compare the two.
Do i want a GTR? yes. Does the fact that it doesnt have a manual tranny bother me? no. can I afford it? no.

cause M3 and Mustang have 4 seats and not really special to me in terms of styling. i liked the E46 M3's but not the current model...and the latest bimmers look like a toyota + hyundai mix.

I think a better alternative for a 'driver's car' in the price range lower than or close to the GT-R would be the 'new' Porsche 911/Boxter S/Cayman S/R, Lotus Exige/Evora or even the Audi TT RS.

If I had the choice I'd still go with a manual Z, clunky tranny and all. The Z is a real sports car whereas the GTR is an engineering masterpiece and a very very fast car. The pros are relatively easy to list, Z is cheaper, upkeep is cheaper, RWD, manual transmission, and looks better.

The Lotus Exige is way cheaper than a GTR, unless you buy one brand spankin new for $75k but that would be foolish since the car hasn't really changed must after they added the supercharger.
