Yes, it only applies to Japan itself. But the point is, if you cut enough markets, it won't be profitable for Nissan to make the Z anymore for just a few select markets that still allow gas engines. When the 370Z premiered, it was sold in North America, Europe, Japan, Russia, Australia and the Middle East.

Now all that is left post-2035 is North America, Australia and the Middle East.

Also, you do realize that California and Massachusetts have already enacted a 2035 ban, with probably more states (and the incoming Harris administration) to follow suit?
