I'm sorry if this topic was redundant, but I appreciate the feed back/replies; and yes I did use the "search" function on the forums and it did not bring up any topics of which model people prefer.

If you go to google.com and put in the search box site:the370z.com you can search the forums much better than the built in search function.

don't let it happen again!! jk lol. it's ok
it would cost you more if you were to do your own upgrades than getting the sport package.

i think 99% of the people will say if you have the funds go for the sport package

No regrets getting a sport pack here. But I do regret not being able to get a pearl white or a Nismo at the time I was shopping.

As stated, if you plan on going crazy with modding, you should go base, Light mods (breathers+ tune) get the sport FOR SURE!

Get the sport model. You can always add "better" aftermarket components than what factory premium packages offer, but in this case it's going to cost you a whole hell of a lot to get something that's really not all that much better. The sport brakes and wheels are pretty awesome out of the box and 99.9% of people only "upgrade" them for looks anyway.

The LSD is worth it over the base rear; I've heard some track junkies bitching about how they needed to replace it, but IMO either they're super-demanding, highly skilled drivers or they're full of $h*t. I have no issues with mine.

SRV is a cool feature and you won't be able to install it on a base model.

You can always get better suspension but chances are you don't need it unless you're Ricky Bobby...

I feel that for most people the only things really worth upgrading (not talking just cosmetic here) are things that don't come on the sport models anyway like performance intakes/exhaust, short-throw shifter, etc. I'm also willing to bet that very few people on this forum are able to drive this car to its extreme limits anyway, even in stock trim.

First lets get out of the way that I really am kinda full of $h*t... However with all respect to Duc,

For track, the sport LSD (a.k.a. OEM VLSD) does not really cut it. I drive mine pretty hard and hands down my best mod, (with oil cooler a close second) is is a real LSD (I went with a Quaife from Z1). The sport VLSD is pretty weak and makes the tail end VERY unpredictable in over-steer (power-slide) situations.

Drive an OEM VLSD then swap to a real LSD then send rep to thank me cause it is a BIG DEAL upgrade. (probably about 1500 bucks installed and worth every penny if you drive hard)

We'll put you in the < 1% category that actually uses their Z the way it was supposedly intended to be used.

For most of us it's a non-issue, but yeah... I haven't had an opportunity to test the limits safely yet (i.e. at a track). For "spirited" driving on public roads my only complaints are the high oil temps and massive blind spots. I haven't run into brake fade or fuel starvation (yet).

If you need an LSD at all, you need something better than the sport diff.

I guess maybe the VLSD is of value if you drive in the snow.
