Pretty funny that this article just came out too: Stillen supersizes power output of Nissan 370Z and Infiniti G37 [w/video]

Second paragraph made me facepalm about my choice for z replacement haha.
It is a great car, you really won't be disappointed at all. When I drove a 2011 E90 M3 with DCT, it was a brilliant car in the way it combines great road manners, comfort, and yet has a great engine and drivetrain and the handling to match. I did think it was a bit too quiet for my preference though, I would definitely go with an aftermarket intake and exhaust, plus an enlarged intake plenum cover.

Would you go with a 6MT?

Keep your track times and dragstrip slips RCZ!

So when you do it again in the M3, you can compare them side by side...and embarrass yourself

I have always liked the M3, what are they planning for 2012 M3, anything new?
My only issue with the M3 is it has been getting heavier a lot, but I still think it is a solid car. Do not worry about the article, you can just get a few bolt ons with the M3 and be fine or go all out if you want: Active Autowerke | Blog Active Autowerke & Martino Auto Concepts E92 M3 Builds… The Details.. :

I've beet to active many times and met everyone there...It's like 20 mins away from me. I've seen their cars/race cars and its all pretty impressive, but its SO expensive.

I am going with the DCT. I would like to live with the dual clutch at least once in my life. I think I'm going to love it. I love driving simulators with paddles.

As far as new things, there are a few things, but nothing CRAZY. The packages are completely different than from what they currently have on the BMW website. Now there are less packages that include a lot more options...its pretty nice, granted a little pricey.

Its a car you can track and then drive to the grocery store on your way home, which is exactly what I want. So it doesn't go as fast...I can live with that since there are many other things about it that I like. Its a daily driver and it will be way more livable and practical than the Z.

Phelan there's a N/A M3 out there running 11.9! So it can be made quick without going overboard! I'm definitely gonna keep it relatively stock except for maybe exhaust and little quick bolt on things. Maybe wheels!

Also...I'm doing european delivery...gonna drive it through all those passes in the alps and into Italy...maybe to the 'ring, etc. Its an awesome program and takes 4200 off the price of the car...plus I need a vacation!

I've heard that before a few times, at least once from myself. Get back to us a year later and let us know how "relatively stock" it still is

Im pretty sure an exhaust on an M3 is required - they sound AMAZING.

And the delivery option sounds awesome dude - $4200? That sounds crazy. How much to ship it back to the states when you're done, or is that part of the package also? And why is it so much cheaper to take European delivery?

RCZ, don't you think you'll be bored driving an auto M3? You've had an STI and 370Z (both manual) why stop now?
Nah, I don't think so. I think im going to pat myself in the back when I'm in miami traffic and i can throw it into full automatic.

If I ever ditch my Z, it will most likely be for a DCT car of some kind.
Yeah, a whole other league is right, they are so much faster and more responsive.

Make sure you keep us updated on your trip to pick up your M3. Sounds like a blast! Oh and this 'I'm only doing minor mods' thing? We're well past April Fool's Day buddy! Next you'll be trying to sell us the Brooklyn Bridge!
Yeah haha, I loved my STIs! You made a good choice although I have not even sat in one of the new ones. If it's anything like my 06 then it must be a blast. Now that's a fun car to mod! Simple bolt ons and a tune and youre at 330whp/340wtq.

I think I'm going to be good about this one Ben, It is a much much bigger monthly payment than what I have now and the new M3 is coming out in 2013 as a 2014 model so I will keep my car relatively stock and easy to sell. If the rumors are true, its getting a triturbo V6 and less weight! The first turbo is electronic...kinda like an SC for the super low end response.

Thanks a lot, man. Yeah, those were happier times when I didn't hate my transmission. Crazy how long we've all be chatting almost on a daily basis.

Agreed, there are sooo many options I'm going to have a really hard time deciding...I was looking at prices too and nothing is less than $2000

Yeah, I've said it too, but I've also learned my lesson about what's worth it and what isn't. Exhaust, intake filters, maybe a pulley that's it. I'm not messing with the tune or anything. Maybe some minor exterior mods, wheels and I'll keep my RE-11 tires.
