What would be smart would be for him to hook up with a quality US facility and have them mfg the brace from his plans locally for US customers.

I know it has been a while again since my last post but as always there are so many things that need my attention - even though I'm proud to show you the final look of the GT-R plenum conversion WITH strut brace.

Hope you like it as much as I do - the brace has been tested at 2 trackdays already and you can feel no difference versus the stock brace (although you feel a big difference if you skip the brace completely).

the last but not least important step will now be an UpRev tune to see what can really be gained from this but as far as "installation" I claim the project finished !

[RESIZE=800][/RESIZE]

[RESIZE=800][/RESIZE]

as soon as I have some patience to go through all the costs, steps and parts that have been involved in this project from beginning about 2 years ago to the final result you see above I will calculate a reasonable price for those who want to buy the same setup !

for the strut bar this is really no big magic, I could company with somebody who is able to do the welding and give him all the measures, geometry, material, etc. so this can be done directly in the US to avoid huge shipping costs.

Some of us with turbo kits had to put a spacer under the strut bar, and there's next to no clearance between the bar and the hood. Would your design fit? I know it's hard to answer without the car in front of you, but I'm just looking for a ballpark guess.

Upon closer inspection, the spacer may no longer be necessary due to the way the bar curves.

@Chuck
I'm pretty sure this modified strut bar will fit every turbokit piping ! the GTR plenum sits a bit higher than stock so the piping is also a bit higher. We made the strut bar so it clears both the piping underneath as well as the hood (its a flawless fit without touching marks on the hood) and of course the oil dip stick in front. Everything is accessible and can be operated without any restrictions.

How big of a spacer do you need? Can you go with a thinner spacer? I know mine is different but I have no contact on mine.

Well, the main point of interference with the stock bar was at the throttle bodies, so the design of the bar looks to have eliminated that issue. At that point the only other bit that would need adjustment is the pipes leading to the throttle bodies, correct?

It's maybe 1/4" at most. I'm not sure how much the engine moves against its mounts, so I'm not sure if you'd get contact when the motor moves.

Thanks Chris! I really appreciate your innovation with this. Please do let us know when you get around to it for the price and breakdown of each.

Will you be sourcing the manifolds or just the adapter and the brace?

If you could make a complete kit with just the adapter and any needed/extended lines, bolts etc and then have a price for just the brace and of course for the entire package.

That would be awesome.

It looks great and right at home in there! Congrats on completing the project.

Although personally I would ditch the engine cover!

Yes, the final for-sale version needs a "no engine cover" option for saving a little cost and 0.4 lbs of weight or whatever Looks awesome!

I'm excited!

Also if the stock strut bar makes contact with the TB, by how much would you have to raise it to prevent contact?

Cause the height can be regain by cutting the skin off the hood. Add a spacer/washer to the strutbar and cut the strutbar area out of the hood skin! Thinner strutbar made out of Titanium?

Either way in for groupbuy!
