With the 9psi pulley and the regular trim on the supercharger it will be around 460whp and 360wtq. But as stated it adds more than just power. Way safer, much more responsive and more fun to drive.

It also opens the door to take the kit up to 550whp safely, with more mods of course.

The 8lb pulley overspins the sc though, right?

No. The 9psi technically does by a small amount. However there are several guys overspining it well beyond that even without a problem. I wouldnt hesitate to put the 9psi on.

Don't forget that they best way to go to 9psi is to change the drive pulley on the SC. You can order the 2.85 pulley directly from Vortec.

https://vortechsuperchargers.com/col...ant=7811182081

You will also need to go up in size for the idler pulley to get the correct tension on the belt. Still with the added idler it is way cheaper than what Stillen charges.

Just found the SC belt idler pulley that is needed when you go to the 9psi SC pulley. Use the NAPA 36112 part.

It's a tough call between this and tt. 460/360 is good power, but I am worried that since the boost and power builds with revs, it's not going to be too noticeable most of the time except when I am pushing it which may make me regret not going tt. But it is so much cheaper than tt...

It depends on what you really want. It's perfect for a daily driver like me, since it's less strain on the engine and trans. I tend to stay out of boost on my daily commute, which is prob why I haven't had any issues these past few years.

I am worried that if I am only making much boost and getting much more power higher in the RPM range, I will rarely feel it since I am hardly up there in normal driving. Can you guys feel much difference in the 3k range?

Get the Si trim on the supercharger and then make an additional 35whp.

This behavior is not really specific to SC.... In fact, staying out of boost is even easier in a turbo application (hence the existence of turbo lag)...

In the general case with this type of SC:
SC will make boost sooner, but will only make full boost at the top of the rev range
Turbo will start making boost later, but make full boost much earlier in the rev range.

All else being equal...If the goal is to be able to granny around town without boosting until you push down on the pedal, turbo is probably the way to go. All else, however, is rarely equal. =)

Every now and again I attempt to spend an entire tank driving like an old lady just to prove to myself that the car is still capable of achieving its OEM spec gas mileage (it does!).

What exactly is the si trim? Does Stillen have a higher power version now or is that something you get through Vortech? Also, just curious, how much mpg do you lose from the SC always spinning? I already get bad mileage because of the 4.08. Figured that could actually improve a bit potentially or not get worse with tt since I would lose the 4.08 gears.

I wish I could remember, but my car has been in the body shop for months, so my memory is a bit hazy. I'm going to say you'll only have 1-2 pounds at that range. When you want power, it will come to you and the power is very linear, so there's no drop-off.

Another benefit to the Si impeller that TopGunz mentioned is that along with the extra boost, it will kick in sooner as well.

I can't speak to the SC, but I'd imagine your fuel economy would still be far more dependent on your driving habits than whether there is an SC or TT installed. If I drive like a normal person, I still get OEM MPG (a little better, actually). I am TT though.

I see you are currently making Peak whp of 310 and Peak tq of 265.

Here is my dyno. Si trim and E85.

Okay, so the is is an impeller upgrade. Is this something you just buy and it gets replaced during install or do you have to send it our to vortech?

I doubt I would run e85 with the SC. Between my 4.08 gears, the SC, and e85, I'd probably be getting 10mpg which I now we shouldn't care about butt hat's just way too low.

I know mpg depends on your driving habits, but with SC, you're almost always in some amount of boost since it's belt driven. Also, since the power come son gradually, I might even keep my 4.08 gears. With tt, those gears would def be gone and you can stay out of boost easier. The downside is $$$$ and more maintenance. I wihs I cold get a ride in a SC and TT z.
