Topgunz - air to air upgrade

How easy was it to swap out the impeller? I want to swap, but not willing to give up the car for another 3 weeks to send to Vortech...

Takes about 15 mins, remove volute, 5-6 allen key bolts,

tap off the volute with a rubber mallet, remove the screw on the impeller.

its slides right off.

Mine did not slide right off, we bent the hell out of it trying to get it off.

I was surprised to came off so easy!

I ended up reading a lot up on these V3's, a lot of the mustang guys are running this guys impeller. They are claiming there psi doubled down low, but lost a half to a full psi up top. which I don't care, I would love seeing more boost down lower.

He also offers 150 rebate if a before and after dyno sheet is provided.

Anyways I ordered it last night, 425 usd, 78$ for overnight shipping.

I ended up taking to him about this stuff for a hour, he does some great work, he even bores out your volutes, all kinds of stuff. this guy knows his way around Vortech, if we want more boost, this is the guy.

He said with the T trim volute, , machine scoll impeller (the impeller come right the edge of the intake volute) bearings, boring, 15 psi at 7000 rpm 56000 rpm.
1223$ for everything, not bad considering the 928 impeller is 528$

Let me know how that goes. I'm going to run the SCI for now, but I'll def swap it out myself if that's all there is to it.

Interesting but i have some concerns.

They dont make a V3 in a T trim.

15psi on what motor, the 3.7l? You could get 20psi out of this unit if you put it on a 2.0L and you couldnt get 10 out of it on a 6.2L. Its all a matter of how much displacement and backpressure there is to equal what the engine CANT ingest.

V3 unit with a swapped T trim Volute. impeller and so on.

http://www.superchargerrebuild.com/w...e-t-ccw-b.jpeg

he has the v3 with the t trim volute on his 2007 v6 mustang, its running 14-15psi.

They are different motors, so it may vary. But this will give use more PSI, no matter what way you look at it, While keeping the impeller rpm down at a safe level.

As you already know, we can get this thing up to 20 psi with a few pulleys, but with the impeller speeds, its extremely dangerous.

Thats crazy. I have never seen a T-trim V3. Does he make them custom because unless Vortech just very recently released them, he must?

And the V3 with just the 9psi pulley at 7000 spins 53,000rpm which is the max rated by vortech. When you take it to redline at 7500 in our cars it spins at 56,000rpm.

If he is seeing 56k at 7000rpm then he has a more aggressive pulley setup then we do.

Yes its completely custom, he fits the T trim volute on the v3, he matches a HUGE impeller, its crazy how much bigger it is. the impeller actually sits flush with the supercharger intake, where ours now it like sunk in a inch.

Vortech does not do this.

So are you going to try this T trim? That would be awesome!

If it's bigger, will it fit in our car?
