Rust on new Z1 rotors

Mine rust every time I wash the car. Go fast a brake hard or just drive it and it will go away. It is nothing to worry about. Lol if you brake like you are bedding them they will turn blue. Don't worry about that either. I think it looks cool!

I tried that to a certain extent, this portion does not get touched by the pad. The inner "hub" part stays black it's just that small ring portion that pisses me off. I know it's nothing to worry about just don't want to see rust when everything else looks clean and nice. I've seen other rotors without rust there and didn't know if something could be done to prevent it.

Paint the rotor hat with high-temp paint, and make sure you spray past all the the rust on the friction disc area. Once dry, drive your car and apply the brakes multiple times. Your pads will literally remove any excess paint, leaving anything untouched by your brake pads painted.

You're not the first one to complaint of the rust ring. There have been a few threads on the subject. Most tape up the rotor and use hi-temp paint. But the paint will peel and flake off with each washing. And you're back where you started from.

Sand blasting and cooling the rotors before painting is usually not done.

. No, I've had these CR2Ps for a while now. I sold the 350Z a while back, but still have the TE37s wrapped in RE-11s so I might put them on the 370Z. The only problem is, the offsets (+22) and tire sizes (255/285) are somewhat conservative for the Z34. I have some spacers somewhere, but I don't feel like swapping out tires.
