i just want to clarify something... visconti is a Master Tuner of EcuTek and hence promoting EcuTek and his services...

for all of those who are asking him to compare EcuTek against UpRev... please note that he is not EcuTek mfg... as far as I understand, he is merely giving his opinion on EcuTek and his tuning expertise...

with that being said, if you are put off by his comments... simply contact other folks or forum vendors that are tuners of EcuTek... for example, R/T tuning and GTM (who are also master tuners of EcuTek as well)... for that matter if you would really want opinion (and better "customer service") between the two tuning, I would suggest to go to Sam@GTM... nuff said

Here are a few videos..

EcuTek RaceRom custom mapping allows me to wire a ethanol content sensor to the ECU which then allows me to have the tune automatically change based on ethanol content.. This is important for the guys that like to run Ethanol ..

My GTR and BRZ Flex Fuel Calibrations currently change total fueling, Air Fuel Mixture, Ignition Timing, Max Boost Pressure and cold start cranking enrichment.

EcuTek have build in boost controller?
User defined tables and proper sensors can allow this. Basically the tuner creates a new table to define boost based on what gear you're in. They also have to "retask" ECU sensor inputs/outputs.

Ecutek allows for "retasking" ECU inputs and outputs. Basically all the emissions sensor and crap can be disconnected and then new sensors tied in to those inputs. It pretty f'ing awesome if you ask me.

Basically an ethanol to gas ratio sensor can be tied in and then custom tables created to adjust engine parameters based on what % ethanol is in the tank.

Obviously there's a lot of "smart person" stuff that has to be done in the ecutek software to make any of these things work but that's where someone like Visconti comes in.
JARblue and GaleForce like this.

Being able to run E85 and not having to adjust your tune 2-3x a year would be nice. The real drawback running E85 is the vast difference from one pump to another and the significant change between winter and summer months.

This is where the ethanol to gas ratio sensor comes into play. It will automatically detect the ratio of ethanol to gas and adjust accordingly.

Wow, I had no idea EcuTek had some of these advanced options coming. That Ethanol sensor video is very impressive. I wonder if GTM, who is tuning my car, will look into EcuTek...

So use E85 but add ethanol, but isn't ethanol expensive itself?

Interested to see how this all works out. Unfortunately I more then likely will not be changing over even if there is a huge difference since my UpRev tune cost about $500 2 years ago and I just recently spent $400 to have it re-tuned after I had a few exhaust leak problems. Goodluck.
