Funny story, I actually drove my fiances Genesis to help out a buddy last night whos 370 suffered from the steering lock failure. Luckily we were able to tap on it and get it started to pull the fuse. Anyway, back on topic!: From my little drive last night, it refreshed me on how the car drives. The steering is a little sloppy. Not quite as direct or precise as the Z. The transmission feels almost lifeless when you shift the gears. Like the gear shifter is stuck in a tub of butter. I like that you can feel the vibrations in the shift knob and the clunkiness in the Z. The gas pedal also has a slight delay in it, same as the Z (I hate that). It handles fine enough for me but its lowered on coilovers. Its still not bad however. I could drive it as a daily. The interior is a little cheap but it doesnt bother me.

I respect the GenCoupe, but I'd still take a new G37s over it any day of the week and twice on Thursday.
Personal opinion, of course, but the G is one of my favorite cars out there. Sporty, responsive, refined, luxurious, comfortable, beautiful. |

That's because they are such a PITA to launch.
They are fully capable of 12.6-12.7 stock. I managed a 12.8 but was still giving up some on my 60'. That's on the driver, though.

I do agree stats are generally meaningless. What you feel in your butt when you drive the thing is what matters most.

Let me see Hyundai is releasing a sports coupe that competes performance wise with big heavy German base model sedans? That's an accomplishment? Hmm wonder if new Hyundai will have aluminum frame, aluminum suspension, aluminum body panels by 2015? Lol!
Want to see an accomplishment? Watch for new c7 Vette.

It's kinda like meeting a new girl (if I remember correctly! lol)....
It either hits you and you have to have it... or it doesn't. The Z hit me as a 'must have' immediately. I love the perfections and the flaws = true love! lol

First I'm gonna start by saying I didn't read all the pages so I sorry if my thoughts were already discussed.
The Gencoups target was the g coup. It did very well to hit that target. The biggest mistake they made was not designing it to fit the sedan's V8. That would have made an interesting GT or limited available car.

No one cross shops a g37 and that Hyundai. People who look at g37 is aiming at luxury and probably is looking at the 3 series coupe, a5 coupe, c class coupe. |
