Infiniti 10 years ago was still well behind the rest of the marquee brands and look how much progress they have made since that time

What they really need IMO is a new brand image. They need to come out with their own high end/luxury brand to separate those cars from the Hyundai name. Just like Nissan has Infiniti, Honda has Acura, and Toyota has Lexus. That's the only way people will stop looking at them as "Hyundais". They're already trying to hide the fact that all their higher end cars are Hyundais. None of them have a Hyundai badge.

Excellent point

Probably didn't help them out that they were falsifying their MPG numbers either

I have to admit, the Veloster is a really cool little car but BMW/Audi/MB level, no way!
