Can you see the bonnet bulge? What's hiding in there?
|
Surprisingly their new plan suggests a focus on sports cars. Maybe there's still life for a new Z after all.
|
This is it for all the non-believers. Official from Nissan.

FINALLY! Nissan introducing the NEW Z!
Official Nissan video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aiqOLRJi7nU
What do y'all think? I spot a 240 styled rear!? :happydance: |

Says they are going to offer an automatic and manual transmission model...Lets hope so!! |
"Similarly, official powertrain details aren't available, but we learned the long hood will hide a Z-specific version of the twin-turbocharged, 3.0-liter V6 found in the Infiniti Q50/Q60 400 Red Sport. It will spin the rear wheels via either a six-speed manual transmission or a nine-speed automatic. Looking ahead, the range will likely grow with the addition of a Nismo-tuned model whose six-cylinder will deliver approximately 500 horsepower."

Hmmm. No GTR. I guess they may have decided to make the Z the flagship sports car platform. If it happens, I am hoping and praying that it won't be a bastard child such as the Supra and no electric hybrid crap.

*OFFICIAL* 400Z Teaser from Nissan!
Looks to be very much inspired by early generation Zs. Can't wait to see the full reveal. |
Holy shiitake mushrooms!
The only problem I see is pricing it out of reach of most enthusiasts. I also don't see a 25% uprate on the NISMO happening, but it's possible. 5 to 10% seems to be traditional. Kirk B. |
It's a Z34 with a Q motor. Nice idea; too bad they're like 5 years late on the execution. I'll hold off any judgement until I see how well it handles the heat. Based on the cooling in the N/A Z34, I'm guessing not well :ugh:
Call me when the Z35 is announced  |
god dammit..........now i cant just insta-delete people's :bs: clickbait 4 year old new Z articles on the FB group anymore.
also.......dammit again. looks like i gotta call my buddy see if i can get the first one at his dealership. |

RE: the GT-R, if you watch the teaser video, there's a giant gap in the middle of the fleet of Nissans... I'm wagering that if the Z was the "flagship" they would have stashed it in the middle. I think we'll just have a longer waiting game to see what happens with godzilla. I'm cautiously optimistic on this. For now, let's take this as a win in that the next Z isn't based on the GripZ concept and we haven't taken a turn into crossover-ville. |

I'm not talking track. I'm talking about seeing 260F temps with cruise control active on the highway in the summer heat in Texas. That's just unacceptable. Does the VR really run that much cooler than the VQ? If so, then smart move. Don't get me wrong. I'm not trying to poo poo the car. It has potential. But damn ... people are blowing loads in their pants from the littlest tidbit of info  |

I love that they are coming out with a new Z, but I’m more than likely going to stick with my 370 because I know all the ins and outs of it, it looks good, and it’s being built for 800-1000 so I’m happy with what I have personally.. but kudos to Nissan!
|
I cleaned up the new Z render images. What do you think?

Rear is looking like the Jag, which in turn looks like the 240. I’m interested.
|
Well, if this is real, I’m glad to be wrong
|
Seriously, i got chills watching the video.
Finally a new Z, and it looks awesome. |
Looking at the hood, roofline, c-pillar...it is almost identical to the z34
Now I wonder how new of a platform is underneath and whether they really did just re-use the z34 with a new engine and tweaked front and rear end |
Looks awesome.
But how's that interior going to be? |

To cut development costs, they just modified the Z34 chassis. Nissan is not going to spend billions on an all new chassis for a car that is not high volume. Throw in the V6 twin turbo from the Infiniti Q60 Red Sport, a manual transmission, updated interior and tech. Done! They didn't partner with another manufacturer like Toyota did with BMW either. I believe the GT-R is going to be a goner. They just don't sell enough of them to bother. They saw the failure of the NSX which has spooked them. |
|
Exactly what I was hoping for and expecting to be honest. They are simply updating the Z34 chassis. Nissan is not going to spend truckloads of money on developing an all-new chassis when they are struggling now. Throw in the Q60 Red Sport motor with 400hp with a manual trans, update the interior and tech, and bingo! I love how it is clean and doesn't look like it was designed by a 12-year old like the Supra. The rear taillights are supposedly inspired by the 300ZX. Bravo! (I'm a former 300ZX owner and current 370Z owner). Will be made in Japan and likely less expensive than the BMW Supra.

Looks the new Aston Martin Vantage which is good thing. Can't wait
|
Wow! Who would have thought that in such uncertain times it would be Nissan to come out with a beacon like this. I am too excited to see the remarkable homage that is being paid to the S30 even with only a view of the silhouette. Great news today, Gents!
|
I like it!!
|
I love they brought back the hood bump ala the 07-08 vq35hr, I loved that on my 07 solar orange.
|
The Nismo version will look like a champ if they do a body kit and rear spoiler/Wing. I hope they fix it to fit the taller guys with no issues like the original S30.
|
could be just the shadow but the sexy curves are gone
