Very exciting news.
Unfortunate that it says "proto". I thought we were told the teaser video was the production car. Ah well, better to have something than nothing. |
Moar waiting!!
|
Just read the news online. So that 2023 release was to fux with us. Thats dumb. People coulda went to the dealer n bought another car on the strength of that article?
This why Nissan loses money. But excited none the least. |

i meant they aren't developing an entirely new chassis for the Z i'm pretty sure it's using the 370Z and Q stuff with some upgrades. not 100% sure of course. |

Im happy... im excited!! I hope Nissan dont eff it up. I got a dealer hookup for employee discount so it just might be right next to my camaro? I hope it will offer what was missing in the Z34.
Ie not front heavy. Reasonable technology. It doesnt have to he the greatest. But not empty like the z34. Just enough to hold its weight for the next dozen years.:roflpuke2::tup: Seriously though. The Z has the supra tearing up torque meters. The camaro is defying physics, the mustang can hang on the track now and Golf R's are making bad business of Z34's. I hear the auto will be this cars weak spot. Im hoping this is one of NISSANS famous secret hold outs. Remember, the 7 speed came outta left. We had no news till the g37 pre-production was in the auto shows. The Q60 had the best v6 engine in the price range. I bought a camaro, honestly, cuz the transmission was that bad. That and $54,000 felt expensive for what it was. $44,000 camaro had more going for it. Faster, more tech, more torque. The transmission was incredible. Manual option, though I didnt go that route. Now this beast of an engine is going in the right car. Hoping its 100lbs lighter? Same weight as the z34 at worst. Hope the engine bay has been designed not to be front heavy in the corners. I never fully tuned out the slop but overcame it with driving skill. Hoping the transmission gets some modernized tricks. And we KNOW about them. Ya man found DS on our Z transmission days ago. Shyts been around over a decade. Lol :ughdance: better late than never though right. :driving: Im pumped. But mainly. I hope these concepts are hiding some curves we cant see? Or like the GTR. Hope it looks a lot better in person. The GTR looks like hell in magazines n like heaven in person. |

The deal is as the the prices of the offering go up they come ever closer to the cost of the C8 and I would be hard pressed not to consider it. The C8 is a gorgeous car in person! Sent from my SM-G965U using Tapatalk |

however, i'll wait for someone to buy one and take the initial hit then i scoop it lol i bought my current Z with 1200 miles on it for a great price compared to the $45k sticker lol and yes i still have the window sticker in the glove box. |

i'm still waiting to see if the Z06 or just ZR1 will get the twin turbo treatment. |
They really need to stop messing with us. I'm literally in the middle of a transaction to acquire an 2011 sport with only 33,000 miles and loads of goodies, but now I feel like I should hold out. What are you waiting for Nissan!?!?

Mmmm, mid engine r36. Do it nissan! |
You know, I don’t think the r35 engine is front mid mounted. Got curious and looked at a couple pics of the drivetrain sans body and the engine is sitting in what looks like smack dab over the center of the front axle. FM by definition is supposed to be the engine behind the front axle but still in front of the driver correct?
The rear transaxle makes even more sense since the weight over the back end helps negate the importance of FM set up for the engine. Although, when pushed hard the gtr does have some noticeable understeer. |
Notice the exhaust note during the throttle blip at the end of the video. I assume that’s actually from the new car right? Sounds pretty good to me.

Heres a rear view teaser drawing. Holds a lot of resemblence to the Z32 in the rear.

Do you like the 240-esque headlamp scoops? It's our first proper look at them. Similar to the 240z, but stretched. Edit - and for all those MT freaks - at 16 seconds it looks a bit like he could be wrapping his hand around a manual gearshift :) |
