That render makes more sense than anything else I've seen. The reason I say that is because I saw an article a little bit ago and I'll have to find it again but they basically said it's going to be the same platform but with updated interior, and a slightly updated body style. The pillar placement and glass size would be the same, the size and chassis would be the same. Mainly would be upgraded bumpers and some small styling tweaks. You have to remember the 370z chassis fits the q60 engine perfectly and the trans bolts up with a few changes. The most important and the biggest factor they are low on cash and reusing as much as they can while giving the Z a big upgrade is a win.

The window line on the rear quarter looks more similar to the 350 than the 370. Notice how it stays flat from the door, rather than being raised like the old 280/370z.

JARblue 05-01-2020 12:45 PM

These renders are all done by bored people with no connection to Nissan. There is no reason to believe the revised Z34 will take any cues from any of them.

Not to mention this isn't a thread about the new 400Z. It is about the Z35. So there's really no reason to be posting on this subject at all.

my new favorite thing to do is to delete every single post about it on the 370 owners group FB page lol

i even have people who legit just wait for one to report it so i see it :bowrofl:

That truly is a concept of a concept car!

These renderings are all so horrific that it's enough to make me want to go buy a 370Z now while there's still time.

financially challenged company releasing a low volume sports car during a global pandemic thats killing everyone's business?

i doubt it

ped 05-04-2020 02:57 PM

Using existing chassis, engine, transmission and other components, basically just refreshing the interior/electronics and exterior sheetmetal.

Why not, right? At least it will quiet the "10 year old car" critics.

Look, if they wanted to make this basically a Z34.5 or a Z34+, same chassis with some lighter components underneath and a smog legal, 6spd manual VR30 that came with a freakin warranty i would buy that in a heartbeat

but if this 10+ year old chassis didn't sell now, i can't imagine a whole new set of buyers flocking

**** if they wanted to sell the VR30 swap kit in a crate that could be California smog compliant i would also buy that in a second

i mean a reliable and legal 400hp tt engine, assuming it came with proper cooling for track abuse, with the stuff that is already available for the car (like the SPL catalog and the various diffs) would be fun as hell

UNKNOWN_370 05-06-2020 12:26 AM

Funny Nissan waited till they broke af to make a new Z... smh

It's a trackday junkie getting some laps in. :driving: The plates on the Z are issued to a private owner. Everyone over looks that part. :shakes head:

OptionZero 05-07-2020 06:17 PM

And Nissan isn’t using an UNCAMOUFLAGED, 09-12 Z34 body as a test mule

What I got out of the article was that what's being posted by other people is all BS. Nissan is being really tight lipped about it. Nothing is being leaked out. And no hint if there will be a Z35 or not.

Starting in 2030, in some european countries. The only new vehicles that you will be able to buy is all electric. No new fossil fuel vehicles will be sold. I bet all of their military vehicles will be fossil fueled. How long will it take to recharge a main battle tank?

goeagles11 05-09-2020 10:49 AM

I think that article lends credence to the rumors if anything. Albaisa mentions the 240z a million times. Not too hard to read between the lines.

There will be hydrogen vehicles by then and electric will be old news.

From what i drew out of thd article is whats inspiring him. Im gauging his love for the Z and guessing if hes a traditionslist. It sounds like the next Z's design cues will be coming from the Z32. Thats what i got...
I wonder if you guys have long term memories? Did yall have enthusiasm for the 370z when it was a concept etc. In june 2008,the showed what was the0 370z. Which looked like a SMALLER 350z with a bigger bore in the motor. Everyone thought that was thd car. When it was time to order and take allocations of the car in October of 2008. Thats when you saw the 370z as we know it.
Before that. It was slow *** getting info. It was like that with the 350z too. One day there are sketches n rumors... then all of a sudden, theres a concept car at NAIAS in NY. 6 months later there was a 350z...
So is Nissan going to change their marketkng strategy now? Prolly not. So i would just stay outta here if youre expecting some grand news. All yoj gonna see is sketches for a few months. Each sketch will get closer n closer to the actual car. Then suddenly out of left??? CONCEPT.

Thats the way its been for decades.

Design cues concepts from the z32 is a great thing, was always my dream car growing up and I still have a soft spot for the timeless design of the z32.

Given the current global economic environment and the fact the Nissan was already in the hole pre CovID19, I see this following more in line with the Z relaunch that they did with the 350. This platform, in my opinion, is likely to fizzle with the 370z and until they are done restructuring and become profitable again, it is highly plausible that no serious ground will be made on the Z35.
