If u go back and check my old posts I would post confirmed articles n people still thought it a rumor... Lol Just like now when I say the grip Z is there Z chassis. People say its rumor. Nissan made it obvious in the way they made the 3.0 obvious. But so much chatter has y'all doubting even the facts... Lol The only rumor there's that the will be a 3 door crossover. BUT THE Z WILL BE ON A MODIFIED VERSION OF THAT 2,500LB CONCEPT. I GUARANTEE IT! The real question is. How many more years? 3? 5? 7? Smh. I won't be surprised if we go 3 years without a Z selling. |
Quote:
You also forget we have a group who either hope nissan discontinues the Z and another that doesnt believe there is another Z coming out lol |

Riiiiight cuz if Nissan discontinued our Z? The 90's will repeat all over again and some members want their naturally aspirated, now outdated VQ37hr, that's in every infiniti, to somehow be the future past in automotive technology.... LMFAO. Cuz VVEL= racecar!:rofl2: Yes "F&F 12, The rebirth." It will be 370z's riding under semi's and we'll be... KOOL!!!! :driving: :rofl2: Give me a new Z. Please. And soon. |
looks like a new Z isnt coming "soon"
No new Nissan GT-R before 2020, Z-Car will live on We also ask Tamura-san whether the 370Z is the last hurrah for the reborn Z car. “At some time, everybody has to die,” he says. “When, we don’t know. There have been stories about the Z Car dying, and stories about a new version being released soon. “Neither is true. These details are only in my head and no one at Nissan has said anything about any of this to journalists. No one knows about these things. “The Z car will not die while I am working at Nissan though.” |

So no new Z for quite a few more years |
imagine they just re-released the 15'nismo as the new z35. just add a few curves, slim down the side, add a fender vent or two, punch a few holes into the door for some 'excotic looks' and swap the engine to the 3.0T.
so the z34 may turn into the 300zx of my generation? |

Hopefully the 3.0T :iagree: |

At least we know the GTR will be around until 2020. It's frustrating that there is still no definitive answer from Nissan as to when we can expect a new Z.
Makes me wonder if I should pick up a 981 Cayman. |

I think they are going to bring back a Z that truly goes back to the original. If we don't see a new Z by this concept/pre-production model by spring?? We won't see a Z till 2019 as a 2020 model. It will be the 50th anniversary. And would make sense. If we don't see a Z concept this spring? Expect a refresh on the base models again for 2017 models. |
Found some good news regarding the z35, apparently I think the suv/sports car "gripz" concept was a distraction and Nissan will continue the z legacy. Going back in number scheme? 300z lighter 3.0 forced induction I am all for it if it exceeds 375 to 400+hp.
Nissan Committed To 370Z Successor |
I'm glad for now that there's no mention of a turbo 4 banger, since there's articles circulating around with the next engine being "down sized", "fuel efficient", "more powerful", etc.

"LOOK" We CAN build a 2,500lb AWD crossover. Expect a super light RWD sports car. |
Wouldn't it be amazing to have 400HP in a 2500Lbs package for a new Z.

:iagree:[QUOTE=NZNoob;3360828]Wouldn't it be amazing to have 400HP in a 2500Lbs package for a new Z.
:iagree: :yum: Nissan better hurry z35 or rx9:ugh2: |
The RX9 is supposedly going to be priced much higher than the old ones because they are considering it a "Luxury" sports car.

Found some spy photos of the new Q60. The front looks good, the rear not so much, according to the article they're expecting a turbocharged v6 making around 400hp. I wonder if this would be the new engine being considered for the next Z:
Here is the 2017 Infiniti Q60 Coupe » AutoGuide.com News |
As long as this engine has been in production with it only gaining 50 HP in the Nismo version from the previous Twin Turbo Z34 from the 90"s..................... Are you guys really excited about it taking 8 years to gain 50 HP??? Unless they have a Nismo version with at least 425 HP, they can keep it. If the GTR can have 600 HP, the a Z should have a mid 400 plus power plant as well.

Still thinking a couple more years though huh?
|
We are looking at probably 2 years
|
Wouldn't mind the wait if they could just give us a deadline like they did with the 2020 GTR. Or at least something concrete in terms of the platform (though the power plant is most definitely going to be the 3.0 which is cool with me).

The 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo is an all-new engine from the new and exclusive VR- series powertrain family, born out of the brand's longstanding heritage of V6 powertrain production. The new engine has been engineered to empower the driver and offer increased power and torque and higher levels of efficiency than any comparable predecessors from the company. The result is greater mechanical efficiency, while a series of new features and in-house innovations secure superior performance. Selected Infiniti models will be equipped with the all-new 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo from 2016 onwards, with the engine available in two performance levels – 300 or 400 horsepower. The all-new 3.0-liter V6 twin-turbo engine was created through extensive in- house experience of six-cylinder powertrain development and backed up by a strong history of V6 engine production. The VQ-series V6 powertrain family, predecessor to VR, has been a long-established and multi-award winning series of engines that has appeared in Infiniti models since 1994. For fourteen years, from 1995 to 2008, this VQ engine was listed as one of "Ward's 10 Best Engines," an unrivalled achievement. |
Man that is a clean set up.

Looks like it uses an air to water intercooler setup. I bet it won't be long before the aftermarket scraps that in place of a nice front mount
If this isn't in a Z, then I see a Q50 in my future |

as obsessed as nissan is with platform/engine sharing for cost considerations I cant see it not being the Z engine |

Those intercoolers just look weird haha
