I have the braided line and a Mocal 180 degree T-stat plate standing by. While it was up, I wrapped the lines for the CSC with header wrap and aluminum tape. Also wrapped the manifold flange and Cat inlet area for good measure. That should help keep the clutch fluid from overheating and possibly damaging the CSC seals. The RJM clutch pedal should be making its way soon so I can complete the job. Goal is to do whatever it takes, at this point, to keep the CSC happy.

what else did you have in mind?

I commute in to work on an interstate spur. Traffic is pretty heavy until you pass the Military base. Then it thins out to almost nothing. It was at that point the C6 Vette ramped onto the interstate. Tucked in behind me, in the fast lane, and to be nice I shifted one lane over to let it pass. Which it did and pulled away.
Once traffic had thinned to nothing & once we hit a long stretch of elevated road with no on-ramps I decided to play catch-up. There is an ever so slight chance that I exceeded the posted speed limit just a smidge.
Blood pumping, ready for a long day at work.

Leather seat/door covers and a navigational head unit w/ back up camera. Maybe a battery relocation to the trunk and remote oil filter to the battery compartment. Wheel spacers, perhaps. Electronic road noise cancellation?

Had this stuff stacking up waiting for time. I took my long weekend and put in:
GTM oil pan (obviously oil change and filter)
Filtermag
fumoto drain valve
34 row oil cooler
hotchkis front sway
Goodrich SS brake lines
full brake line flush with motul.
Stillen brake cooling kit

Very happy to see my oil temp go down for a change ha ha. Also delighted with the sway bar and the SS brake lines were noticeable.

This morning, I'm backing out of my driveway and the neighbor kid (about 13) is standing there waiting for his dad to unlock their mid '90s Honda mini-van. I put down the window and ask him if he wants a ride to school (few blocks away). He says 'no' and get in the mini van.

Obviously not a car guy...

Or maybe he just knows not to take rides from strangers?

Was this the car you were in? :icon08:

I am about to do my first oil change as well. I word of advise for you, if you get the Mobil 1 in the 5 quart jug it is much cheaper than 6 one quart containers.

Test fit of my Moweraxle front plate. Looked pretty good. Didn't have the anti-seize though. And prefer no plate... but don't really want the hassle.

Careful now

KatmanII 05-30-2015 07:56 AM

Finished up the oil cooler install after the AN-10 fittings arrived. Question now is whether to reinstall the plastic underbelly or leave it off.

Stillen G3

...took a total of 4.5hrs but it's done!

stillen g3 intake...

The end result is a very positive one & I must admit that I'm very proud of myself right now :rofl2:

Throttle seems more responsive and the :icon23: dyno approves! It also seems to have made my car louder by some measure

After I took this pic I noticed one side seemed to stick out more than the other so I pushed the other one in to make it more even

*Next up is Pioneer NEX4100 & Uprev tune!

nice work, but why did it take you so long? few beer breaks in between?

FairladyZ10PG 05-31-2015 04:19 PM

It takes an hour just to take off/on my front bumper (amuse ftw)

And i had a new refrigerator delivered while i was working on it so maybe it took longer than it should have :)

Plus i didnt have the correct rotary tool so i struggled to make the hole large enough to fit the intake pipe

Z_ealot 05-31-2015 05:50 PM

gave my Z a nice wash also yesterday and then went to work today getting that stupid hatch weight out of the hatch so it actually opens the way it should, definite improvement without it in there. Also, poured a pint of seafoam into the gas tank and did the whole seafoam through the brake booster vacuum line to give the engine a good cleaning seeing as she has over 130,000 on the clock now. initial butt dyno tests say that she seems to have liked it as i was chirping the tires when i threw her into second gear and also seemed to have cleared up a little hesitation that she was having when starting her up :D....3 maintenance related things left on the checklist now that i have to change out....accessory belt, clutch, and coolant....none of which were done by the previous owner :shakes head:

Pintsize725 05-31-2015 07:37 PM

Had one last hurrah down 1431 to a secret road. If I end up with the AWD Juke, I'll be out there a bit more.

P's_Z 05-31-2015 09:31 PM

Walked by her a few times today.the day was really cloudy so i didnt take her out, used my gf's car. Irony of it all, it never rained:ugh2:

need4speed255 05-31-2015 10:00 PM

Performed first oil change at 1,153 miles. It did take a while to figure out how to jack up the front end. I know I saw somewhere in the manual where to jack up the car other than the side locations but after searching through the manual multiple times I never could find it. I ended up driving the front wheels onto some 2 x 12 and 1 x 6 to raise the front end enough in order to fit the floor jack under the car. I ended up using the aluminum cross member behind the engine for a lift point.

Installed a larger than OE Bosch oil filter that happens to be used on my '99 Eclipse and the GTR. Win, win with one filter for both cars. Started investigating other brands of filters at some autoparts stores and found that the Bosch inlet holes are smaller than the OE filter. Same amount of holes but smaller. The outlet holes in the filter don't have as many as I would like to see either. The Mobil 1 and K&N filters looked very good. May switch up on the next change.

OE oil was still fairly clean looking in color.

need4speed255 05-31-2015 10:11 PM

Went for a nice drive while trying to avoid some drizzle. Not so lucky on the drizzle part. It's funny how some days are just ordinary and others people are breaking their necks to get a glimpse of the car. Today was a neck snapping day. Had one young guy taking pictures of my cars ***. Went to the gas station and had a guy loving on my car. Talked to him for a bit. While leaving the gas station a young hottie was snapping pics of the car as I was driving out. Some days it's like I am driving a GTR.

A couple of days ago I had a service guy at the house and while I was walking him through the garage he caught a glimpse of the Z and said "I like that Skyline." To which I replied "it's not a Skyline." He quickly corrected himself by saying "Oh GTR". I smiled and said "nope, not that either, just a Nismo Z".

Z_ealot 05-31-2015 11:49 PM

Found 2 other things that need replacing on the Z....brakes and battery

JARblue 06-01-2015 06:17 AM

Removed my OEM exhaust last night. She will be left on jackstands for the next couple of days. Until I come home with a new-to-me Fast Intentions exhaust :excited:

Purolater PureONE PL14610 filter seems to be the filter of choice for many. That is what I have been using.

differnt pureone oil filter models

did I really just do this?
