You're absolutely right. I think it would be fine to mix them even if Nissan does say it will shorten the life of the fluid. And I will probably have the coolant changed well before the 105K mile (or 7 years) recommendation anyway.

I have no need for the car today except to back it out of the garage to wash it and then pull back in. On Monday I will drive straight to the dealer, watch them top it off for me for free, and buy a jug of the stuff
