This makes the car frustrating to drive sometimes. Perhaps it's just a shortcoming of the 6spd manual...I've never driven the AUTO. The gas pedal/throttle delay also frustrates me. Sometimes this car is just not as fun as it looks.

Even though I might get flamed...perhaps it's time for Nissan to put a small V8 in the Z. .
No 8...but you need more seat time. If your 240 had a DE-T swap I can see you being disappointed in a lack of 'whoa!'. If its the stock KA, um...what you smoking over there?

Perspective is key here. As a car guy we have several different ones in the family here, all with different power bands. The Z has better torque then the G35 sedan that was recently replaced by a 2.7L Cayman.

Cayman feels relatively strong due to the fact the car weights 600 lbs less then our Z, but peters out a tad above 6500.

The old beater is a modified 2.0T WRX. Below 2000 RPM, that is a gutless car...the Z feels like a small block chevy in comparison

The Z is sneaky fast as others have said. Just took some getting used to. I feel the 0-5K band is the strong point on the car.
