I think we've all learned that lesson. I had a friend driving once do the same where I would have been the one t-boned. I yelled at him a lot haha scared the #$$# out of me. Personally, even if someone is signaling I wait to see them actually initiate the turn because people forget their blinker is on a lot.

i could use my notebook with Word to do these projects, but i prefer my MBP's nice screen..atleast for these projects i dont want to deal with pc's/windows. :icon17: and so far ive spent nothing since i already had the MBP and Libre is free. :p can't beat that.

I don't blame you, man. You have a good setup ... one that you can trust. I feel the same way about my Linux, and Android systems. I only use Windows at work for office tasks, but for software development, we use Fedora Linux. At home, my entire family uses Linux. Don't need Windows. Don't miss it. Don't want it. A long time ago, I told Gates and Windows to :gtfo2:

I don't trust blinkers and generally try to wait until they have fully passed my front end with their front tires before I go.

Glad no damage to you or the Z. I can sympathize with you. It's not like Austin has good or even courteous drivers... :shakes head:

Srenity 04-18-2012 09:10 PM

So yesterday I found out that there is a market for flat black painted shifter trim peices. I had bought a factory trim peice from Courtesy Nissan to paint for my car. I ended up getting an automatic one instead of manual. I had already painted it before I figured this out so I posted for sale yesterday in the forums. I had three people want to buy it within an hour of posting it. I should have had a higher price. Now if I just had a source for these trim peices for cheap. Anyone have a 370z salvage yard?

A small Z gathering si shaping up at my house this Sunday -- Curtis (ZForce) and maybe Hal so far. Anyone else in Sacramento want to come by -- Sunday is always coffee and donut (when Z's show up) day and all Z's welcome. Colin and Taylor (sons) are grappling with a noisy oil cooler on a 370 and a minor revving (not repping -- that's my problem) issue on the 240.

Nice! I haven't been among more that 2 other 370's at one time :( Hopefully that changes this summer and more of the 370 guys come out from hiding!

Mr. Onzedge....how often do you drive the 240??

I was driving it every other week -- alternating with the 370, but stopped about 9 months ago. The 370 is more civilized and easier to commute in, if you can believe that. The 240 takes a bit of work to operate and can be a brutalizing driving experience that makes the 370 on Koni/swift seem like a 1978 Cadillac El Drorado.

But, I am putting her back on the road this weekend -- I am having an idling issue and she does not want to rev past 5500. A little TLC, timing and a carb sync will do wonders.

I will be in Sac this weekend. I have a house warming party to go to in the affternoon but I might be able to stop by in the morning. What time are you guys meeting up? If it is too early I might be too hung over as I will be working/drinking at the "Taste of Elk Grove" beer, food, and wine festival. A good friend if the rep for Mendenceno Brewing Company so I poor at beer fests a good amount during the spring and summer.

Thanks. I really like the black trim in my car.

As for the wrecked Z's I got a plan....are you following? Go get the trim pieces from said cars. Paint said trim peices with my propiatary flat black matched to the z's interior paint (AKA Kylon fushion rattle can)...still following? Then post them for sale...sell & ship them to our lucky customers. Then send me a franchise fee for my efforts. Okay go make me money!!!!

mhcoss 04-18-2012 09:57 PM

Well today I went and got my Z washed interior/exterior. When it came time for the dude to bring the car around I watched him stall it twice in a row right in front of me. lol. After the second time I went and told him to get out and drove it off myself. Don't know why they are letting someone who clearly sucks at manual move cars like that. anyways end of rant

Good morning Misters. :hello:

Anyone have a recommendation on inexpensive radar (thinking sub $250). In my brief research so far it seems like the Bel RX65 or Escort 8500 X50 would be the best choice in that price range. Radar detectors are illegal in VA but I will be leading most of my club's cruising at ZDayZ this year so I figure it would be nice to have.

happytheman 04-19-2012 06:46 AM

G'morning m4a1mustang! :hello:

If you're searching for a detector, why don't you just throw down for the best? Passport Escort 9500ix.

I'm curious, what features does the 8500 series have that interests you? The 9500 has the built-in GPS that after three false positives in the same area will not alert on that band or frequency again.

Hahah! I should've had this at the last place I worked at!

Good Morning All. :hello:

You are up early Steve. Good luck with the radar detector; I've been thinking about getting one too.

My Z will be ready early this afternoon. :happydance:

The body shop called to say the front end re-spray and repairs came out great. Just need an oil change now and the spacers swapped.

It's really weird, as car insane as I am, I've never "missed" a car when it was in the shop before. I guess it's just that Z magic.

Have a great day all! :tiphat:

:bowrofl: I love the flow chart.

Regarding the 9500... I just don't want to spend that much. Radar Detectors are illegal in Virginia so I would really only be using this whenever I am out of the state.

Regarding radar dettectors - does anyone have any experience with the cordless Escort Solo3?

SOLO S3 - Escort Inc.

I'd much prefer to not deal with a cord, and I don't want to hard wire the detector into the car.

Thanks!
