The ultrasound(s) is great, but we didn't find out our baby's gender until he was born. My wife said, there are very few true surprises in life any more. That was enough for me to want to wait as well. Now, my mother... It drove her up the wall. :bowrofl:

Anytime :tiphat: the nice thing is you can download just the Pages app now and not the whole suite. It's reasonable too, $20 and has most/all the function of MS Word without the suckage :icon17: But give open office a try, it may suit your needs... And it free.

hey mr.gale... oh, only $20 for the lite version, huh? nice!
that is worth a try.

$20 for the real, full, Pages program. It just happens to be unbundled from the rest of the suit.

Edit: you mean "lite" as in not bloated like MS? Yeah! That's hilarious... I'm up to speed now. :roflpuke2:

A friend of mine suffers from a range of maladies. Included in these are dyslexia and insomnia. Plus, he is an agnostic.

Poor guy -- he lies awake at night doubting the existence of his dog.

btw, a mac question... i need to get a reliable office software. what is recommended? i currently use LibreOffice (freeware) but the otd file sometimes corrupts non-english language. i need to use doc when i send out my projects and i dont want to run parallel on my MBP... i just dont want to deal with microsoft-infestation on my mac. :shakes head:

I'm not into music production, but software is available for Linux, but I am not familiar with the maturity of each option. If you're comfortable with a Mac, I'm confident that you're fine. However, if you're curious, and adventuresome, check out some music-production-specific Ubuntu-based Linux distributions -- for example, Ubuntu Studio. See Home | Ubuntu Studio. Try it on decent hardware.

Why do you need to use doc when you send out your projects? Does someone else need to edit them? If not, generate PDF, and send that. I don't know of any other solution other than running MS Win and Word in a virtual machine.

Nevertheless, I'm curious about the type of documents that these are. Sometimes, customers think that they need Word when they don't ... but path of least resistance, and all. I understand.

hi bbigby- yah, i think im the one gating the format choices cause im using freeware for this freelance work, but they dont care about that. they pay me for content.

kinda like in the music industry where one can hum a tune into a smart phone, send the mp3 via email to the producers, and the producers make an entire ensemble out of it. the equipment doesn't matter for the initial humming.

i could use my notebook with Word to do these projects, but i prefer my MBP's nice screen..atleast for these projects i dont want to deal with pc's/windows. :icon17: and so far ive spent nothing since i already had the MBP and Libre is free. :p can't beat that.

And GM thinks their new ATS will compete with a 3 series BMW :shakes head:. The one thing GM hasn't put any thought to is, the difference in service quality between BMW and GM. You can build the nicest, highest quality, best built, vehicle the world has seen, but it doesn't amount to a hill of beans if you don't have the support (quality dealer network) to back it up after the initial purchase. :shakes head:

hi mr.gale- ive not purchased or had to deal with GM service so i dont know but i have to say the infiniti dealer i go to sometimes for service parts do have a very fashionable showroom and waiting area, unlike normal midwest women the ladies are very presentable (sleek and pretty), and service people were very attentive and polite.

if i went to a GM dealer do get a hello from mr.goodwrench and his cheeze burger shaped ladies? :icon14:

Bye Mr. Ken-San! :hello:

Just finished giving her a nice, slow..bubbly bath!

I spent a good deal of time cleaning the wheels tonight. Every time I clean my wheels, I'm amazed by how much more clearance the rear wheels have between the wheel and the brakes!

I consider myself very fortunate to have, after 27k miles, VERY nearly PERFECT wheels. There are a couple of specs that are perhaps 1/2 a pinhead in size one each on two wheels..and that's IT! Nothing In the lug holes. There's not even any scratches on the barrel behind the wheel's spokes. No scratches where weights were replaced...no nothing! :yum:

Pintsize725 04-18-2012 06:46 PM

Almost got t-boned a bit ago. Probably would have been my fault. But seriously, who slows down like they are about to turn and then speed up when I enter the intersection? Oh well, lesson learned: just wait until it's clear.

happytheman 04-18-2012 06:50 PM

 Glad to hear nothing happened!

I'm a little OCD about going through intersections. I always assume someone else is coming from the other direction.
