Press and Hold or Press and Let Go?

Along the same lines...

Is the cranking over 'manufactured' to sound cool? I know that most of my recent cars have started up a heck of a lot quicker than the Z with just a turn of the key. Almost feels to me like they pull the spark or something the first few revolutions to get it to sound like that. Anyone know?

GMTraitor and I were talking about this over the weekend. His Maxima fires up a lot quicker than any of the Z's do with the same push button type start.

So you press and hold.... it won't start

You press and let go then press and hold..... it won't start

==> Steering Lock Failure.....
