It makes more sense to cruise in 6th on the HWY because it's just a lot more efficient. Shifting at redline every gear really isn't appropriate unless you're drag racing.

It makes more sense to cruise in 6th on the HWY because it's just a lot more efficient. Shifting at redline every gear really isn't appropriate unless you're drag racing. And yes, you’re wearing down your car faster constantly ragging it out. There is no particular rpm per say you must shift at, just use common sense. Learn how to down shift if you want immediate acceleration.
