happy- i would park my car sideways with all that roomage. :p actually at the office i park my G on the corner taking up 2 spaces. everyone understands that it's my spots so no one parks there. :icon17: actually one of the many reasons/benefits why i still work where i work i guess.

What springs did you get?

Happy -- I love your approach to parking. Just watch though and when you come out later you will see the parking lot just like this, but with one other car -- parked right next to you. I will be a Chevy Cavalier or Corsica, too.

Oh you gotta know that after my recent curbing experience I'm triple careful about it every time I park/drive next to one! :icon18:

BHAHAWAAHAHAHHAHA!! I thought you were jabbing at me! I was quite pleased to see that you were cashing in on my recent hardships!!

Nick911sc 08-26-2011 10:31 AM

If I honestly was making that joke realizing what had happened to you I know karma would come bite me in the *** in the form of my rims being scratched:eekdance:

is that on the stock 19's? if so remove your splash guards cause they will look out of place from the back. :) imho i think 15 is max i'd do on the rear cause the wheels and tires are kinda narrow...

I wish mine could hibernate. Unfortunately I have no garage. The one thing I had to sacrifice to get the privacy I have. Pretty much the one feature I wanted most due to having my Z but alas Im garageless. Im plan to build one someday. So I will be making use of the thousands of tax dollars I spend on the local elementary school each year and park in the middle of their parking lot for the storm. I live in the middle of the woods, I dont really even have a yard, I have trees. (onzedge you will never see me post in the lawn thread lol) We could get 100mph gusts here, I know stuff is gonna be fallin! Good luck Papo, & anyone else bout to get hit.

Ps. I sent out some reps before but my phone doesnt let me click on the message box to comment so unfortunatly I can never send a message w my rep. Lame.

Alchemy 08-26-2011 11:19 AM

Oh & nice pic G2Z!

I'm in the same boat... no garage, but I do have a carport. Thing is, I'm more worried about the carport collapsing than anything it could protect the car from. I'm potentially f***ed since I'm no more than 2 miles from the Sound, and less than a mile from the Thames. Maybe I'll build a ramp up to my deck, blow out the sliding door and park the Z in my living room for the weekend.

kenchan 08-26-2011 11:41 AM

dang... sounds :eekdance:

might be a good idea to wrap your car with thick blankets or foam and tie everything down....

happytheman 08-26-2011 11:46 AM

Good idea Ken!

Just got word my exhaust is being shipped today

FromG2Z 08-26-2011 01:19 PM

Alchemy, Ken, thanks for pic props.

Yeah car port is at least better than no shelter. But yeah, good only if port is sturdy! :)

Berk = :tup:

How long did you wait? When I ordered mine last year, it took 6 weeks to get them. It was agonizing.

Nick911sc 08-26-2011 02:10 PM

If it's going out today I had to wait about a week and a half. But I'm pretty sure they were being manufactured prior to me placing my order.

Cool. They took a bit more of a "Make to Order" approach with mine. UPS delivering them brought much joy to me.

Nick911sc 08-26-2011 02:15 PM

I'll be happier when I have it in hand haha

No. I actually didn't think it was too shabby an idea. I think I'd rather my Z be wrapped in a blanket than a carport.

I got the Tein S-Tech from a member here (Brand New), I had them before on other cars and I liked the ride. Hopefully it will be the same with the Z.

I was going to get the Swift but I have the F.I. CBE which is real close to the ground, so that was my concern since I'm not going up to 20s.

Same to you, I hope nothing happens to your Z. Supposedly it has gone down to Cat 1 now, but the same path.

OK, I should get them by mid-week, but that will depend on the Hurricane and will try to get them install by the weekend.

In for pics as well! You'll most likely have the Teins on before I get my Swifts on... so busy with work so I have no time to install it... Irene pretty much washed away my hopes of getting it done this weekend. :shakes head:

Yeah, Irene wash out some stuff I was going to do to the Z too.

gurneyeagle 08-26-2011 07:56 PM

Installed Brian's Nav by-pass harness today, and it works as advertised. Having the back-up camera while you are driving in freeway traffic is awesome!

While the dash was apart, installed the GTR start button. This is a MUST for every Z owner. I didn't realize it has a metallic finish to it. It really stands out in the interior and looks awesome.

Next-up is a Z Store carbon fiber fang. I want to install the EVO fog light, but will need to find someone in the Houston area to do that one.

She got her first bath today, and a full detail is on the agenda for the weekend. Since it's forecast to be over 100° again tomorrow and Sunday, that may get delayed. It's no fun dripping sweat all over the car as you try to wax it. :ugh2:

LT419 08-26-2011 09:40 PM

Decided I wasn't gonna risk it, so I got the f*** outta Dodge. My Z is now residing in my dad's barn on the other side of the state. Still in Irene's path, but at least it's under a roof (and walls).

kenchan 08-26-2011 10:13 PM

good job, LT! hope thing settle down quick. if irene takes down a barn i dont think there's really anything that can stop it. lol :D

G2Z- that's a good lookin' shelf you got there and your collection of Z's. :D

happy- looks like LT took care of the situation.

right now im downloading a steinway... 19 more mins to go.... big file. after getting this MBP, im using it more for music than photography. lol should've gotten a SSD though... the HD spin speed is slightly lagging to play these huge virtual piano files off my digital piano...

AlexRaymond19 08-26-2011 10:41 PM

Got together with a fellow Z owner today. Found him on youtube. And he lives like 15 minutes away. Who would have thought...

CC_370z 08-26-2011 10:42 PM

I drove it to work.:driving:

FromG2Z 08-26-2011 10:57 PM

Thx ken... Yeah i love my toys...

Sorry to hear about Irene guys. I hope the path changes and all areas are spared. Is it down to category 1 now?
