I don't think it is going to sell. It's been up for a while.
It's paid off, so I'm not fretting. Just gonna drive it for a while and see if I can keep myself happy. If/when I sell, I will pass the spring on to someone else:roflpuke2:

I traded it in (actually two weeks ago). Dealer gave me exactly what I paid for over a year ago. I can't have piece of mind with this car after everything that I have read here. I did not want to wait to find out if it will happen to mine (oil consumption, oil temperature, steering wheel lock/starter button issue, etc). With my kind of luck, I'll probably be hundreds of miles from home when it happens. Anyway, it was "fun" while it lasted. I will not miss the road/tire noise - can't even have a conversation at highway speeds.

havent had an issue with having a conversation with anybody on the freeway in the car, of course mine is a 2011 so per the rumours i've heard i may have more sound dampening material than yours.

Working it. I've got the wrx, so I'm thinking about getting something practical and adding a bike to the stable. Maybe a fit and a cbr.

Totally off topic here, but a question for Red_Zed -

Is HSV an abbreviation for Huntsville? Do you work at Marshall? Is Reston, VA close to the NASA Langley labs?

Sorry to be nosey, I'm just a big Space buff (grew up about 20 miles south of KSC and am old enough to have witnessed a few Saturn V and earlier program launches) and have been to Marshall a number of times.

Thanks!

Very cool that you have seen Saturn V launches. These were awesome and awe-inspiring. 7,000,000 pounds of thrust or thereabouts.

Im down at the shore in Wildwood. When I pulled into the motel last night a crowd instantly formed around my car. Ahhh I swear I feel like a celebrity sometimes. Parking spots are pretty tight here, I fear door dings. Well, off to the beach. Its supposed to be beautiful today:tup:

Yes, hsv is Huntsville....and Reston is not far from Langley...but sadly my work is a bit less exciting. I'm young, and missed the opportunity to work on the cool space stuff. I am mostly involved with embedded computing for aerospace stuff :-/

yah, the Fit's a useful car for errands. i have to say even the AT one i have and hate is pretty useful when i zip over to the stores. :) and best is when you have to go somewhere kinda rough. who care if something happens to it. lol :rofl2: well, i do care about the hassle but not really the car. it's really an appliance in my head.

no.

i hate the AT on the Fit. the one sold had the MT and it was pretty fun to drive. the AT is for the wife mainly.

forget the stupid AT paddles on the Fit cause it spins with the steering wheel when you turn :rofl2:. :icon14:

LT419 08-24-2011 11:50 AM

I'm actually thinking of getting a Fit too, to replace my dying Jetta.

That, or the new Chevy Sonic when it comes out. Flirted with the idea of a Juke, too. :ugh:

happytheman 08-24-2011 11:59 AM

I think the Juke is kinda cool looking, especially the interior.

Getting the Z's driver side front wheel repaired at this very minute! :)

Red__Zed 08-24-2011 12:01 PM

Juke is $$$$ for what it is tho

FromG2Z 08-24-2011 12:37 PM

^ agree.

Forgot to comment on newtoys'post. You traded the car in, just because of things u read on this forum regarding POTENTIAL problems u may encounter yourself in the future but have not yet reeeeeally encountered?

Pls say this isn't true and that I am wrong in my analysis.

As to topic, drove zena back home over lunch to switch cars... Enjoyed the drive so much so, despite the heat. Also what's with our noisy clunky trannies??? Lol.... With the windows down I can really hear it, esp when pulling into garage. I hope Nissan improves this next go around... Sounds like marbles (as described from another post on here before)

Red__Zed 08-24-2011 12:44 PM

^dude, he could barely hear his passenger talk over the road noise, which is a clear problem.

I need a car that can drown them out completely

Red__Zed 08-24-2011 12:45 PM

Also, yes, our trans sucks. One of the things that drives me nuts about the car.

Maybe it's me, but after removing the stock spring (I still haven't put the new one in yet), a lot of the clunks/clanks/rattles I heard/felt going from 1st to 2nd sorta disappeared. There's still sometimes an ugly sound... but it's not nearly as bad and I don't nervously look around anymore to see who heard me flip the cement mixer switch.

I think I spent a hour taking the plasti dip off. Some of the stuff wouldn't come off with my fingers so I used tape. I took off the fog light to get into the crevice. Lesson learned. Now I'm thinking of getting a cf overlay.

zcar_dad 08-24-2011 01:35 PM

I just missed the construction that was done in our building parking lot after I left yesterday. No one coned it but my usual spot and about 30 others had been jack hammered with 8 inch deep and three foot by three foot holes for some reasons. I go in at 5:30 a.m. so it is still dark but saw them in time. Could have been a rough entry. Of course, I had a long discussion with the facility manager, who claimed he did not know any thing about it. RIGHT! The night guard told me was notified but not the number.

Yeah i have no idea what he is referring to. My wife and i go out in the z all the time with highway jaunts, and we both have no issue with conversations.

In pictures it looks good but in real life it looks like spray paint. it just wasn't for me.

yah, really. road noise didn't bother me one bit when i was running the stock 19's. even quieter now with the conti DW's which wasn't really the intent of getting the DW's but an added bonus. :)

Smart thinking. Wife and I have an xterra as our primary dd (Z is a semi dd), and we're probably going to unload it soon and get something that gets over 16mpg. :ugh2: (I'm going to miss the hell out of that truck tho).

actually seriously considering this to replace the xterra. I had a blast on the test drive but it is kinda cramped for me and that's especially true if I'm in the passenger seat so I'm gonna go retest drive one again soon and see if I play with all the seat adjustments more etc if I can find that "perfect comfy spot" both in the driver and passenger seats. (it sucks being 290lbs sometimes).

I dont think it looks too much like spray paint, especially because of the texture. I think it give my fangs a sorta factory look. I should have a big PD on my chest, I love the stuff.
