I firmly believe most people who die on sportbike do so because of their own ignorance. I owned one for 4 years, I know what it did to me, it made me feel invincible. A lot of riders do die because of another car but, if you're going 130mph and someone pulls out in front of you, whose fault is it really? So many riders die because they're going way too fast and the car sees them and thinks they have enough time to pull out but they didn't know the guy was going triple the speed limit. Lots of dudes die that way.

I've said this before. You start out in life with 2 buckets. One empty bucket of experience, and one full bucket of luck. You hope that you bucket of experience fills up faster then your bucket of luck runs out. People die because most have pushed their luck and don't have the experience to save their azz. I've thrown a bike down a couple of times at over 120 mph.......on the track, never on the street. If you want to go fast. On the track, never on the street. On the street. I'll only do about 7/10's. I keep the other 3/10's to save my azz if need be.

I get it too.

Here's a picture at some race track of a Z and a Porsche. A quick look and you'll be hard pressed to tell the two apart.

I live on the side of a mountain, that has a 25 mph, straight residential street (tons of driveways and parked cars) which runs parallel below the mountain. Late at night, I occasionally hear cars & bikes accelerating like it's a drag strip!

In the past twenty years since I've lived there, I've clearly heard the speeding of a biker that killed himself hitting a car which pulled out of a driveway. There was no sound of screaching brakes, just the bike rapidly accerating through it's gears, and then BAM! The guy in the car was seriously hurt and the biker died before the ambulance got there.

Another incident involved a car, accelerating wildly up the same street, once again, no screaching brakes, just BAM again! Driver died and unfortunately 2 people in the car pulling out of the driveway also died.

My community is small, only 23 houses, but competition is rough. Three of my neighbors have newer Corvettes and my next door neighbor has a beautiful 69 GTO. I'm the only guy with an import sports car.

This multiplied by a million.....Respect the machine and understand what's going on around you and you'll be fine(leadfoot). On a side note I'm trying to get my first set of leathers this year so I can spend a lot more time on the track. As well as finally building a dedicated track bike.

I have a coworker that has a 350Z. I was never enamored by them, but I do have to say that his is one of the nicest I've seen. It's slightly lowered, has cool wheels and just looks bad-a$$. Still like the looks of the 370Z the best (2nd choice is the 240Z)...

I've had a bike since I was 18 and it's amazing how much different I drive while riding one. I've taken a few riding courses, and they've helped a lot. I've only been down once (1989 Goldwing) back in 2006 while on the freeway. A woman in front of me slammed on her brakes and as I hit the front brake, the bike went down. I slid for what seemed like an eternity, but luckily, I had on a helmet, leather jacket and riding boots. I still had a lot of road rash, but fortunately, only suffered a broke ankle. Even with the broken ankle, I managed to ride the bike home (about 10 miles). My ankle didn't start hurting until my wife took me to the local ER (gotta love adrenaline).

I don't have a bike at this time, and I may get one in the future. I don't worry about me, it's the other "drivers" around me because you can't fix stupid...

My last track bike was a RC51. Loved that bike. Last time I did a track day with a bike was in 2007. The doctor said that my hip may not take another fall. So that was it with a bike.

The only accident I had with a bike on the street was in 1975. On a back road late at night. Missed the first 2 cows and hit the 3rd one at about 70 mph. He ran out of the bushes. Right in front of me. Hit him square in the azz. Broke his hips. The farmer had to shoot it that night. Me, broken left foot.

Im in suburbia. The street im on has the m5.

I see porches, amg and m series roll through frequently but pretty sure no one in my area owns them. Mostly sedans/minovans/suvs.

Oh one time i saw a z and i made sure to awkwardly wave. He waved back with gf looking at me with the death stare. Lol i dont think she wss happy that her bf was so excited to see another random guy
