Pulled car out of garage so fumes are not an issue. Started car cause it was cold here and car is stored there. Started car and let it warm up to operating temps waiting on my battery tender to get here.

Screw the car....I let mine warm up for my own comfort. Actually I only do that when it is really cold outside. I know it doesn't help the car one bit.

As I'm sitting here laughing at some of the tripe said in this thread as if it's fact, I'm still wondering why the car shut off and locked the doors automatically. Not one person has questioned that yet.

Having one or both fobs in the car while it's idling does not make the car shut off. It doesn't make the doors lock on their own.

Also, even IF that actually happened, why in hell would you have to call AAA to come open the car? Both keys are supposedly in the car. Just hit the button on the car door to unlock...

So no matter what people are discussing in this thread, I'm either calling BS on the OP or calling the OP a troll. Either way, the OP isn't telling us the whole story, or he's just telling us a "story".

When I bought my Z, the salesman handed my brother the owners manual booklet along with the spare key/fob. My brother placed it in the cubby behind the seat along with the owners manual, and reminded me to not forget it when I got home.

Well, I did forget it, for about 4 days. With the other fob in my pocket the whole time, not once did the car ever act any different, nor did it ever shut off on its own or lock the doors on its own.

And the reason I finally remembered the other fob being in the car is because my brother went walking over to my car, joking that he was going to take it out for a drive and hit the button on the door and it unlocked. My fob that's usually in my pocket was about 70 feet away in the house on the kitchen counter.

I told you this thread is for the bulshiwood rated movies only good with popcorns.
I always leave my key fob in my car in the garage and my car never locks itself.

The only time our car locks itself automatically is when you start driving it off..unless OP Z's is actually Knight Rider!!!

Because the engineers that made this car had some awesome ideas designing the CSC, steering lock, and the hatch that won't open on the first button press. Companies hire the lowest bidder and they generally aren't too bright.

There's a difference between this forum and, lets say, a 350z board. This board is populated with people who have the financial stability to afford a still rather pricey car but just don't take people's ******** like what is being spouted about remote starts. The 350z board is full of people that are usually in my age group, bought the car third-hand, don't know what the **** they are doing, and act like life is The Fast and the Furious. Natural selection will weed them out eventually.

Finally! The first smart thing you've said on this forum!

And no, this forum isn't rude. We're just tired of people coming on here throwing around a bunch of crap that is in no way accurate or true. You do a half-a$$ Google search on something and just blabber about it on here like you know what you're talking about, but you don't because you didn't take the time to research something properly. It's people like you that make good forums like this one "more worse"... As you say. LOL

Did you actually read what you just posted above? And you're calling us uneducated?!?! Now please, do as your friend said he was going to do and...

Did you even read the article that he posted? Do you want me to post more articles confirming there are no benefits to warming/idling the car when it's cold?

No. The exact opposite. We want you to post 100% less. We lose brain cells every time you squat your tired, arthritic haunches over your large-font keyboard and **** out another useless, content-free waste of server space.

Have you been checked out for dementia? Anyone who keeps buying and selling the same car over and over again might need to go see if their brain has left the building.
