You guys are stubborn. Who exactly do you want to hear from to convince you that a car does not need to idle or warm up before driving?

As for embarrassing myself, you think I care what opinion you have of me? Oh, you speak for all the members of this forum?

If you don't care for this thread, just move on to some other one.

I don't think anyone is arguing that a modern engine needs to warm up before driving, only that it does no (or extremely little) damage to the engine if you do let it idle for a few minutes.

It's what the other guy was saying till some folks got rude and drove him away. Unlike you, the idiots were repeating that the articles (which said what you summarized) were all wrong.

If you agree with me that it does little or no damage, then why did ya'll say the following (my emphasis)?

While I agree that some of the responses were a little much, they are only trying make sure bad info is not spread around.

Additionally, when as the engine cools, condensation forms in the crankcase. If the car isn't going to be driven in the winter, it should just sit with a Battery Tender on it. Intermittently starting it doesn't help anything and causes more harm than good. In fact, it doesn't do any good.

There you go....good advice. When alarm rings to wake you up in the morning, first thing you do BEFORE you press the alarm button, you press the remote starter. Then, you brush your teeth, shower, dress and eat breakfast, before you step out to the car. Car is nice and toasty.

Great advice. It's why remote starters exist!!!

No, he's trying to be sarcastic. Of course, like everything else in his life, he completely ****** that up too. He needs to go warm up his car for a few hours. In the garage. With the door closed. Sitting in the driver seat.
