"The study found that if people would just knock off unnecessary idling of this sort, then consumers as a whole would save $5.9 billion per year on fuel costs (based on the cost of fuel in 2008). The saved emissions, the study noted, would be "larger than the emissions from the soda ash, aluminum and limestone industries combined."

Course, if you don't care...

it is more worse to cold idle, the oil doesnt get hot enough and is getting contaminated and the car is running rich fuel mixture because it is cold which is contaminating the oil and washing the cilinder walls so the cold oil is not even protecting what it can and then when it trys it gets washed away by the extra fuel, its ok to do it if it makes you happy and you warm to blow the hot air heater on you to make you warm but its not good for the engine, this is fact and cannot be debated

This is NOT a fact and can most definitely be debated.

I don't know where you're getting your information from, but you need to stop posting until you get the right information.

If the average clown was to read your post, they would assume:
  • The engine floods with fuel at idle
  • The oil pump doesn't work at all at idle
  • The engine never reaches full operating temp at idle
  • The oil gets contaminated with fuel at idle
  • Everything you say is "FACT" so it HAS to be true

And again, "more worse"? Really?!

Wow...

He's got a post history full of dumb **** he passes off as gospel. He thinks we should be comfortable with 320 degree oil temps and 10k change intervals too.

I warm my car up to the first or second dot on the water temp gauge. My oil analysis has never shown any fuel contamination or excessive wear.

Behindspace, if the only person who agrees with you is Zeebabar, you've found yourself in the retarded part of town.

While this was true back when cars had carburetors, with FI and engine management of modern engines, not so much. The ECM will make the engine run a little rich when cold, but not wash-the-cylinders rich.

Not to mention that modern motor oils (regular or blends or full synthetics) bond and "stick" to all metal components much better than before, so dangerous cold starts are somewhat a thing of the past as well.

I've installed remote starts for years (including in my 370) never had any issues with any of my customers cars.

You, good sir, are a grade-A retard.
