MOTORDYNE ART Pipes - Review

I used the normal rtv sealant and I have an exhaust leak between the header and art pipe again. It's been about 7k miles Guess I'm going to take it

Guess I'm going to take it to an exhaust shop and see what they can figure out.

Could anyone see any issues if you're running a single pipe down:

Really interested but I'm a novice to modding cars. I just want to make sure there wouldn't be back pressure issues, etc. Thanks!

What do you mean?

There would be more back pressure (so to speak) with the single pipe than dual, essentially, after the y-pipe, the least resistance, the better.

I just see a lot of people running duel pipes with these so just wanted to make sure there wouldn't be any issues.

Trying to figure out if I should get these ART pipes or go back to stock cats... I love the power from my non resonated test pipes right now but the RASP is killing me. Drone I can live with. I have a t1r catback and right at 3k if I step on it more than 30% throttle I will get this huge raspy explosion of sound and power too -_- Sounds like I'm driving a Civic hitting that vtakkk bs. Would this cut down the rasp to around the same as the stock cats would, or would it still be considerably raspy?

The rasp I have to deal with right now that I really do not like. More noticeable in higher RPM's, the exhaust is supposed to have a very deep tone by itself but definitely not anymore with my test pipes

That doesn't sound too bad on the camera you're using, but ART pipes will cut down significantly rasp you're having.

Installed my ART pipes this weekend. Called Motordyne for a quick question, they said Tony would call me right back, and he did. He basically ended up walked me through everything before I started and told me to call back if I had any further questions, really appreciate the awesome customer service! Anyway, I drove the car to the on base auto hobby shop so everything was hot. I figured I'd just break the evil bolts, which I did, and fairly quickly(took a while since the shitty socket kept falling off the extension) I'm not a big strong dude either, just a good breaker bar and some effort. One tip though, i put the socket on the drivers side directly on the bolt and then fished the extension in. (about 30 inches of 1/2in extension) and then hammered lightly to make sure it was seated next to the steering linkage, and proceded to snap that bitch off. it helps to have a friend keep pressure on the end of the bar while you pull, it does come off with a bang. then came loosening the stock bolts which was time consuming, one because **** was hot still, two because some of the bolts arent easily accessable, but not bad at all. all in all, it was 4 hours with moving my car in between, and by myself with shitty tools. reset the ECU, let her idle for a few minutes, enjoyed the smell and took her out. was easy on the gas for as long as I could stand to let the ECU remap and then romped on it. initial impression was some rasp, but it sounds great w/ just post maf tubes, drop ins and stock exhaust. definitely louder, but not bad. sounds mean WOT. no pictures as i'm posting from work, and its been too rainy to really tell how much power I gained but ill tell you this.. rolling on the gas in 3rd in the wet now lights the tires around 4500rpm. good jump in butt dyno happiness and noticable tire spinning power, so I know i'm not fooling myself. Thanks to Motordyne and Tony now I want the Shockwave too. haha

Can someone confirm that HR ART pipes don't fit the VHR engine? haha

I ordered a set from FBNissan on December 13th and received the shipping info on Friday evening (Dec. 21st). It says HR ART pipes are on the way to my house.

I explicitly stated that I have a 370z and I was in communication with FBNissan through a little forum called the370z.com so surely they know what engine I have..

afaik, test pipes off the 3.5 HR motor should work on the 3.7 VHR

iirc the 3.7 VHR is the 3.5 HR just bored out a bit more

someone else chime in if im wrong

Can someone clarify for me, are ART pipes ok when used in conjuction with a supercharger setup, or any forced induction for that matter? I just read that RTP's aren't advised for boost, but wanted to double check on Motordyne's ART pipes to be sure...
Thanks! I'm beginning my mods and want to leave my options open for FI in the future

Question

hey. i have a 08 g35x sedan and i just ordered art test pipes for my g. i told them i had an all wheel drive and that it was an auto so they said i would neeed the one for the hr motor, they did not say anything about it no being compatible with my all wheel drive. i was browsing through the site and happened to see that it does not fit on the awd...so my question is did i just buy something that is not going to fit or did u guys fix the problem since its already almost two years later? i searched on forums and i see that you guys are looking for lab rats for the test pipes. i am interested but i already bought mines. i should get it in the mail sometime next week. but will it fit?
