If you hook it up to the compressor cover, the boost will fall off in the upper RPM range. This is due to pressure drops across the entire system. On the build...I am now working in the waste gates, things are looking good so far. |

I'm glad I brought up vacuum blocks now lol. It was VERY convenient on my old turbo car. And you don't have to worry about drilling your plenum or worried about cheap t's into other lines.

Well, it's 1:15AM and I am done for yesterday I guess.
Got a solid start on the wastegates. While at it I had to move the transmission harness further up..no big deal at all, takes about two minutes. This is where the passenger side exhaust pipe runs. Up and away: ![]() Then I moved on to welding the waste gate pipes on: ![]() Looking good installed: ![]() They are up and away from everything: ![]() ![]() Then I started the hard part, merging the two together. Each waste gate has a 1.5" outlet, and after merging it goes up to a single 2" pipe. It will go in to the driver side of the Y-pipe that goes in to the F.I exhaust: ![]() ![]() As it sits now: ![]() There will be a 2" V-band flange after that flex coupler that goes nowhere, and then another short section which will merge with the rest of the exhaust. This is something that I will do later on today I guess. In case anybody is wondering about all the flex pipes. They serve two purposes. The install is made easier as there is a bit of give in them. The other (even more important purpose) is to keep things flexible during heat cycles. If everything was ridged, things would start to crack due to stress. I guess you can compare it to a bridge, if it was solid anchored to both sides it would fall apart rather quick. I also had a look at how one would get to the fuel pump. It looks like it is behind the back seat, and a bunch of plastic has to be removed to gain access? Last edited by Boosted Performance; 05-01-2012 at 02:32 AM. |

All the work looks great Sasha! This will be a huge hit at the EME Day car show in May!! Gotta figure out a way for people to see this artwork under the car though.... hmmmm.

I'll bug you about that one later haha
I think most put mirrors under the car to show the undercarriage. Though that would be pretty expensive.

Thank you very much. I just had a quick look at it, and then proceeded to the waste gate fabrication...just wasn't in the mood to mess around with plastic interior pieces at the time.

The more I look at the kit the more I realize I'm gonna have to change out the clutch before I get the kit installed.
