As you can see in the title, this thread is going to be all about the new single turbo kit offered by Boosted Performance.

A bit of history first. Cars and performance have been a part of my life for a very long time, and I can attribute the fabrication part of it to a summer job I had a long time ago. This is where I discovered tig welding, and the fact that I have a knack for it, so the transition was easy. About 4 years ago I bought my first 350z, and right away the bug bit, and bit hard. Although I enjoyed the performance, boost was inevitable. After spending a lot of time looking at all the options, I decided it would be best for me to build my own kit.

With the build, I started posting on the forums, and before you know it a lot of other people liked the idea of putting the turbo behind the transmission vs. in the (hot /tight) engine bay. With this I started getting PM’s from other forum members, asking if I could build a kit just like it for them. I thought about it for a bit, and decided…why not. So I started my own business and called it Boosted Performance. It is run out of my own shop, on my own property as a home business. It is not big, and I am the one person that does the fabrication and support. So far I have built and sold 25 complete mid mount turbo kits, and have 25 very happy customers. I take pride in my work, and the support I offer with the kit. There are people on this site that can attest to that, and I am sure it will get mentioned at some point.

This mid-mount kit has been around for about two years, and I have customers running this system on stock block 380whp to fully built engine producing 650whp+. That kit offers a lot of versatility, with turbos ranging from 62mm all the way up to 76mm.

Couple of pictures of that setup:

I have recently been presented with the opportunity to develop a single turbo kit for the 370z, and this project is now underway.

This will be a complete bolt on kit, with minimal modifications made to the car. The idea is to build a kit that can be installed by anybody with some basic knowledge and mechanical amplitude. As with the mid-mount kit, I hope to have most of my customers do the install themselves. The most difficult part of the install may be the removal of OEM catalytic converters..and let’s face it that is a rather easy task.

The kit will consist of the best components on the market, and will include:

Precision T4 6266 CEA billet turbo (or the 6766 CEA billet turbo as an option)
Tial Q BOV’s
Tial MV-S wastegates
Large vertical flow intercooler 25"x9"x3.5" core capable of 1950cfm of flow
Exa scavenge pump
Uprev Osiris tuner
340lph fuel pump
750cc Bosch EV14 Plug’n play fuel injectors
Complete oil cooler kit (since it is needed on these cars anyway)
All 304 stainless exhaust, tig welded and back purged
Tig welded aluminum intercooler piping
All brackets (pump, fmic…ect) will be 304 stainless
3-ply silicone couplers
Stainless T-bolt clamps

This will also be a true twin scroll setup, where the firing order (pulses) of the VQ will be utilized. This is the ideal single turbo configuration, and the most efficient one. It also offeres the large T4 turbine to breathe, up to 1.32 a/r turbines. Testing on the 350z shows that if you want to go big on power, a small turbine can be a restriction. Sure the turbo (compressor) can make 700hp, but if you have a small turbine...you will not come even close to that.

I have recently built the first kit twin scroll turbo kit for a 350z, and here is how it turned out:

Piping before shipping:

The kit/design for the 370z will be the same, with simmilar pipe routing.

The car is currently on the lift, and I am about to install the intercooler. This thread will be updated, and have a lot of pictures posted.

A well-thought out system + quality build + clear post = Smart opportunity.

Props for this. I'll be watching your successes.

So lucky to be in the same city! :excited:

I see you finally put the pics up on the FI section, props on the build, I do wonder if this will fit on a AT or not considering the piping is all around the trans area.

Flyboy 04-05-2012 01:12 PM

Idea on cost?

I'm interested!

Nixlimited 04-05-2012 01:17 PM

Looking forward to seeing results. How does the piping going across the tranny affect ground clearance in the area? Hard to tell from the photos.

I'm sure most of the local guys have figured out that my car is on Sasha's lift. Like many of you, I had never heard of BP before, but after talking with Sasha and many of his happy customers on my350z I had no issues leaving my car with him.

His customer service is top notch. My car has been with him for only a day and I am already receiving updates and photos of progress. I should also point out that he is in it for the customer. I told him to do what it takes to get it done and even after saying that he has not ordered anything extra ect... After hearing some of the other horror stories on the forms of people's cars getting neglected after they paid, it was refreshing to hear him say that. Alot of his current customers pointed out to me that his customer service does not stop after you have received/installed the kit too.

I can't say enough good things about BP. I can't wait for this build to be finished!

Ps I know Sasha has lots of great connections with vendors, some on this site. I hope they chime in on this thread too!

Sasha has previously stated that the clearance will be ~ same as stock. Never had issues with his previous builds.

This kit will be bad no joke I have a friend with a BP kit on his 350z. I wish it was out now I would order one,I do have a friend with a G37 that can sure use this.

The parts that are listed are top very good the pump injectors and turbo choices are all great.

I cant wait to see the results.

Deadman 04-05-2012 01:43 PM

Awesome can't wait for results . Could be an option for me in the near future :)
