Default What Does It Take To Support F.I?

Hey everybody, I just got my gismo (Apple Spellcheck )and I want to put a GTM TT in it.
But I have a few questions, the biggest and by far most important is just what other mods will I need to add to the car to support the TT?
Second question is a lot off topic but what are the best (And reasonably priced) coil overs?
3. What are the differences in the GTM TT stages? Like the 500hp vs 1000hp one? Are those the numbers on what the kit is capable of? Or are they the HP you will get with it? Sorry I'm not very knowledgable in car/engines.
4. This will prove how dumb I am when it comes too cars. So if I get a g3 stillen intake, and then install the TT kit the next week. Will the g3 intake still be of use? I guess what I am asking is does the turn key TT kit come with an intake?
5. (Warning: Another beginner question) If I get the Fast Intentions exhaust do I still need to buy a high flow cat? Or is that included in the F.I exhaust? Sorry for all the questions but if someone can just answer one or two of them and another person answers 1 or 2 it would be great! Thanks everyone, and I appreciate all the help and will give rep!

Great for me, I can drive it in any weather and flooring it mid corner and letting it grip itself out is an awesome feeling. Evo's are really only good if you want to stay under 500WHP. 450 is about the safe spot. Then you got to build the block and the active diffs start to get overpowered on the track.
I plan to stick with this car until to move to the GT-R , hopefully in the spring/summer. AWD+big power =

I'm going to give you some advice that you should really listen to for your own good.

If you don't know that a turbo setup replaces the intakes on your car, DO NOT TURBO YOUR CAR.

You seriously have a lot of ish to learn. No offense, but you clearly have little to no insight on how a turbo setup works, and you're asking for a lot of headaches if you jump into this before doing the proper research.

I spent 2 years reading and learning about turbos before I did it to my car, and I'm glad I did. If you just jump into it clueless, you're going to face a lot of really rough crap.

Also, if you haven't spent two years reading and learning about Engines, make sure your car doesn't have an engine. We are still waiting for some type of job or career were people can actually work on that engine. I plan on calling those people "mechanics".

Ya, I thought of that on my own.

If you want to get a turbo get a turbo but make sure you have a shop you trust to work on it... Do you think everyone who buys a GTR knows what a Turbo is? Hell, I bet some of them don't have a clue why we need to change oil..

I actually agree with this. Unless you have a good grasp of how the setup works, you'll be in for a nightmare, or you'll be paying for a shop to fix all the little issues, which will cost a fortune.

It is especially important to understand how a car works as a whole--the need for proper tires, diff, and a dyno tune all wrap into that.

Trust what these guys are saying. I took a crash course in FI and paying for it now. Even tho my problems are minor and can be fixed with some ajustments to the tune.
Let's put it this way....I bought the system in June of 2011. It took until August to get the system (had already handed over $10,000 before one thing had been done). Never dealt with the shop, hell never even heard of them.
I had left them my car for 6 weeks to install the system while I was out of town working. Got back in town and not one thing had been done except my dust level had increased on my car.
It took them another 2 weeks to install the system because I was calling every single day. I dropped almost $12,000 on the system without doing major research, big mistake on my part.
Don't get me wrong I love the system but being the first AT7 STS turbo wasn't worth all the headaches. I now have to spend more money to buy a remote oil filter because the intake pipe is blocking it...joy.
I know a lot more from reading all the complaints and knowledge from the members on this forum. Most guys will answer your questions with little bs or sh*t talking because you want to learn. These guys are more than willing to share the info and glad to help you out.
Read, read, read.....but most all research.
