I spend money when it makes sense. Paying top dollar for a set of tire warmers that I may use 2 times a year is just stupid. Even for an amateur track guy it doesn't make sense. So, you go ahead and demand the best and I will do my thang spending on what I deem important.

For you. Only about twice a year. Those $2000 tire warmers are over kill. If your Z was strictly track and doing about two weekends a month. Then yeah I could see it. But you want something that won't fall apart either. Do your research on them. The issues are uneven heating. Bad plugs. Heating elements that either fail or get hot or cold spots. Poor stitching. Controllers issues.

Lol! There is no comparison to sitting in your own pit at Jennings
GP and complaining that some butt hole is burning something and 3 minutes later that butthole is you falling out your chair because your tire warmers
are catching fire.
Relating the experience of a friend remarkably similar to present day me.
With tire warmers you either go all out or babysit them anytime they're plugged in.
But I'm with Rusty, I'd rather drop 2k on a set of axles , a triple clutch or a cage with harnesses. Of course if I had everything and 2k was burning a hole in my pocket.......I'd buy an STI 2011.

I've watched 1 motorcycle go up in flames from cheap tire warmers at Mid-Ohio years ago. The way this guys weekend was going. Everyone knew that something bad was going to happen to this guy sooner then later. Murphy had a hard on for this poor guy. Everything that could go wrong, did. I really felt bad for this poor soul.

Tyre-warmers are banned in motorsport competiton down under in anything apart from F1.

Too many pit-bay fires in the 60's and 70's

Besides, half the fun is your out-lap of half-warmed tyres .... old age and cunning usually beats youth and exuberance off the line and for the first half lap or so.

All the kids run Pirelli "Gran Am"/GT style slicks which take 2 laps top come on .... me - I run Dunlops which are pretty much ready to run hard after the formation lap to the grid. Mind you, don't ask a Dunlop to do much more than a 10-12 lap sprint .. but a Pirelli will run an hour stint (or maybe even a double-stint).

Hmm, I have been looking at a catch can setup for a while. I should have already got one but I haven't made up my mind which one to get. It is between SOHO's and Rampage Fab. I have a pressurized coolant overflow tank. Why would you want to delete the PCV valves?
