This post shows the bottom of the bottom on the original versus the second one. Notice we cored out the bottom a bit to take out some weight. Doing this along with thinning out the side walls allows us to take a few pounds off the weight. Sorry the only pics I have of the bottom of the first unit were from test fitting our fuel rails to make sure it looked the same as in CAD.

This post is showing what i mean by thinning up the sidewalls. On the second manifold, we continued the nominal thickness down around the sides and up to the flange. It makes the flange around the outside really show itself... not as flattering in the rendering but in person it adds some really cool detail. It also makes the side ports for MAP sensor and vacuum ports more 3D and prominent.

One thing I think I failed to mention in the original post is that I did test fit the manifold with the strut bar. While it didnt fit immediately, by adding some spacers to the strut bar I was able to fit it and still close the hood. This snapshot taken from a video I posted of closing the hood on IG, the spacers are much thicker than necessary to clear the manifold, and the hood even still closes. Although, this was with a Seibon hood, and with a stock hood the strut bar spacers may cause interference without modifying the hood webbing structure.

One of these days I will probably machine some nice 1-piece spacers so that we can install the strut bar without it looking like its just floating on some hardware store spacers.

We could make an arrangement so long as you are cool with the way we do the intakes... which is: non-refundable material cost deposit, then... anxiously wait and just when you're about to think we left the country with your money, your intake is done. But this might not take as long as they used to. My old business partner whom I do the intake manifold projects with has been setting up his own machine shop and our turnaround time will probably be quicker than it used to be now.

It fits under a Seibon hood which, as far as I can tell, follows the exterior skin surface very closely. The Seibon hood has much less webbing structure to its underside, and I do not know if that webbing on the stock hood will clear or if it needs to be removed.

So far, hood clearance for the intake and throttles doesnt really seem to be a problem at all. Due to the slope at the front of the hood, I think the big question is, will we be able to get intake pipes on the throttles without having to crack the hood skin surface. I am pretty sure that the answer is "yes we can" but it will be probably sometime towards end of January before I can say we have done it.

Phunk, I am going to wait until you get Justin's car finished. Once that happens we will go from there.

It was finished up today. We have no testing or data at this point. We will be running one this year on Justin's 370Z that ran the 9.91 @ 142 stock engine last fall. A custom engine build is in the works for the car.

So, the hood still closes. But once we start building the throttle tubes, some of the frame work under the hood skin will have to be cut out. But at least the hood skin will remain intact.

Its just so beautiful

We did finish Justins intake manifold. Now we can put his race engine in the car after we finish using the car for building final intercooler jigs for reproducing intercoolers off the car. I will get better pics of it soon. We made a billet camo pattern on the lid to break it up a little. We will probably do some camo theme on the valvecovers to match. The lightening modifications worked, its noticeably lighter to hold and wave around.

cant wait to see this all setup in the car with piping.

curious to see the pipe routing. this mani could make a splash in the GTR market especially with the big HP going front low mounted turbos.
