It might have slipped to the bottom of the box, under the filter so when you pulled the filter out you tossed it out with the box. It is just

It might have slipped to the bottom of the box, under the filter so when you pulled the filter out you tossed it out with the box. It is just held on by the clamp but it fits on there good enough that it should never cause a problem with working its way out.
Did you do your own install? Just curious because there is an individual big picture of it in the instructions. It's pretty hard to overlook.
