I'm going to have to have my shop take a look at it next weekend or so. I'm probably just going to upgrade to the new CJM S1 kit with a Walbro 450 and call it a day. |

Update: Seb said my fuel pressure regulator is set too high which would contribute to running so rich. He also said that my engine loads are too low which leads him to believe there is a boost leak and probably after the MAFs. My question is...If there was a leak in the manifold there would be a vacuum leak wouldn't there? I'm reading 7 psi on the 8 psi pulley.

Yes it would, I had a hose coming off the back of the manifold crack at the T and the car started acting strange. The rpm was all over the place at a stop light.

That's what I thought. So there is no way that I have a leak after the mafs cause the car idles fine.

I have the S1-S and Aero Stealth 340 and mine doesn't cut out. I agree with PaulyZ that it has to be something else that maybe wasn't installed properly. No reason that setup should be struggling.

I am seriously considering going to the 9lb pulley now before I get the car tuned with the A2A setup. I looked on the Stillen website and could not find it. Where did you guys get yours and what is the diameter? Can I get this straight from Vortec or does the pulley go on the jackshaft drive that Stillen supplies?
Thanks in advance!

Hey TBatt. You can also consider changing the vortech pullies on the supercharger side instead. The majority of the slip occurs on the serpentine side. I proved this out on the dyno with some belt grip dressing. The 8psi pulley is not only bigger but it is blasted so it grips better and has better belt wrap. Also, a vortech pulley is $90 where the 9psi stillen pulley sells for $200.
Just food for thought.

So how do we prevent serpentine belt slip? It does seem that my tensioner is a little weak.

Buy a steel 2" pulley and put it inbetween the stillen pulley and the idler pulley on the face of the plate. THere is already a machined and tapped hole in there for it. You would then need to find about a 6" longer belt. This would get more than twice the wrap around the stillen pulley and grip like a mofo. Do it!
