He said there is absolutely no way it would be knocking on e85 and only 17 deg advanced. He plans on desensitizing my knock sensor and we will try again. Seb said this sometimes happens to supercharged Zs that he has tuned because the blower is attached to the engine and it detects its vibration. On a positive note, I did hit 11 psi today!

Strange. Ive had dozens of dyno tuning pulls and never picked up knock.

Is this all still on the same tank of gas? Id almost want to drain It and get some Ethanol at a different station.

im still trying to combat this flutter.

Im kinda stumped, Does the spring need to be a lot stiffer to stop the flutter, or does it have to be a lighter spring to allow it to stay opened.

No, I never ran that pipe since I am only able to MAF tune.

The tighter the spring, the more flutter you will get. You basically just want enough spring pressure so that it stays shut on boost. The lightest spring will have the least amount of resistance to vacuum therefore getting pulled up and away from the pipe.

You get flutter when you are part throttle right? That's because you are going from 18in/hg of vac to say 5. The spring pushes down towards the pipe but the sc is still blowing air out of it at 5in/hg. So it pushes then pulls then pushes etc....

I had the lightest spring in my Turbosmart dual port and still trimmed it down by like 1 and a half coils. It worked perfect. Problem was that it cant purge enough air when you let off the throttle at 7K. It can flow maybe 300cfm when it should be blowing out at least double that.

The Tial QRJ is the way to go. It has very minimal flutter but is very loud due to how much air it can let out of the system. Just put a hose from the outlet to inside of the engine bay somewhere and it should be good.

Thanks! got mine coming.

Going to put my timing cover back on tonight, hopefully I fixed my low oil pressure issue.

Everything with me went good today. Got some good logs with no CEL flashing. I cant believe how strong the car feels. Really the first time I was able to go to redline without it pulling timing.

Awesome! Yeah, I noticed mine after around 5500rpm really starts to put you into the seat. That's usually about when my wife grabs onto the O'shitt handles.

Is there an advantage of using this kit vs. say buying a Fast Intentions Turbo kit? Looks like it might potentially be a little less costly, but seems like there were an awful lot of steps and ongoing tuning required to get things dialed in. Is perhaps the hp and torque curve being more linear due to use of a sc vs a turbo another advantage?

The FI kit is tried and tested as with the Air-2-Air setup we've yet to see any real miles with the kit up and running. I hope the best for all the guys making the Air-2-Air change as it corrects most of the problems with the original Stillen design but we need more miles driven to know how well it works.

Other than that it depends on what you are looking for in performance. A SC car responds completely differently than a turboed car.

I only have about 1400 miles of smiling fun on my Air to Air kit. Not sure where the threshold for "its proven" is but I cant see anything going wrong at this point.

However, yes I am the only one who really has time on it.

Turbo's will be a more torquey and you can feel it kick in where the supercharger basically feels like the stock car with twice the power.

Your right though, there were a lot of steps that were needed to dial it in. That's what is needed when you change something on anything. Before I decided to produce these for others. I basically threw it on in my garage in a couple of weeks, tuned it, and drove it for six months at almost 500whp. Trying to get it mass produced is different.

Jwillis had a terrible experience because he had a terrible shop trying to do something that hadn't been done before.

Once the two kits that I have sold, one for the 370z and one for the G37, are tuned and ready to go I will make an "official" thread to purchase these kits from with details on what you get and a complete set of work instructions so you can see how it goes on.
