Does anyone know if the tial in the pic would fit in place of the turbosmart bov that is used in the gtm kits ... And if it would be any better .. My turbosmart has a tendency to stick often and was looking for a replacement that wouldn't stick

Install is going well, just slow. Hey, I'm old, what's your excuse?

Well is was going good until I ran into a bad Y-pipe. Top and I are working through it.

Before you cause some major damage!

Your BPV is installed the wrong way, you inlet plunger in on your outlet side. atleast I think it is?

Fix that ASAP!

According to Tial that's the way it's supposed to be.

Nope. Thats all good. It is a reverse design.

EVOHUNTER 06-13-2016 08:30 AM

hahah wow good thing I didn't install it the other way. sorry guys lol

TBatt 06-13-2016 02:03 PM

I'm looking to quiet down the BOV with a muffler. Found these at McMaster-Carr. I'll let you know how well it works. At least it is a cheap experiment.

McMaster-Carr

I have the 1 inch version style A. I'm planning on turning down the threads on my lathe except for the very end so a clamp can hold it on.

EVOHUNTER 06-13-2016 03:36 PM

That's a good idea. let me know what u figure out

TopgunZ 06-13-2016 04:05 PM

Come on.. You guys don't want to frighten women, children and squirrels as you drive by?

It is hard to get into a street race against most cars that know not to Fudge with a boosted 370 though.

StillenZ84 06-13-2016 04:22 PM

After I blew the top off of my filter that I had on the Tial, I have just left it off. So loud but I have pretty much got use to it now. lol

TBatt 06-13-2016 08:13 PM

I like stealth. Don't let them know that you are carrying a "big stick".

In a couple of weeks I'm planning on surprising the Ahole in the M3 that keeps aggravating me. He can slightly pull away from me now. Is he in for a big surprise!

BTW: TopgunZ has been stellar working with me through the trials of installing a Stillen kit and his A2A at the same time. Great guy!

TopgunZ 06-13-2016 09:31 PM

That M3 will look like it's standing still compared to stock.

True story

BOLIO 671 06-14-2016 06:14 AM

Curious whether any of u guys have done a before and after dyno on this yet? Would be great to compare the numbers. JWILLIS....do u recall what ur gains were?

Just take a piece of string or tape and mark it from the top of one pulley to the top of the other that are normally on there. Then do that from the same tops except run it down and under the added pulley. Subtract the first measurement from the second and add that number to the overall length of our serp pulley. Doing this in my head I think it would add about 6"'s or so but that is pretty ballparked.

EVOHUNTER 06-14-2016 08:35 AM

I just finished these up this morning, had them off the car so why not paint them right?

there going back on tonight, Ill get all the pulleys on and work on this belt thing tonight.

Also guys, if your oil pressure gauge is reading below 14-17 psi at idle, your oil pan will be full of gasket material! and the oil gallerys will be blown out.

Check your oil pressure guys, mine was at about 5PSi, it wouldn't trigger the Low oil pressure light either.

15hp/ 33 tq I believe it had more in it but the tuner clearly didn't know the 370Z well. Seb is tuning the car when it's back together so we will see what he can make with it.

Paint yes, Not a rattle can though.

dupoint ceramic high temp primer - 2 coats. 60 psi line pressure

I used Dupoint Black, code # LZ9Y - PHANTOM BACK PEARL. 3 coats. 33-45PSI depending on angle.

mixed 30% paint 70% harderer.

Finished with 3 coats of clear - 60 psi

its not perfect, pretty dam close.

the next step would be wet sand and polish, but good luck getting a polisher in those groves of the timing cover.

Milkcow and Z84 have dynos lined up for this week so we will see soon.

EVOHUNTER 06-14-2016 09:12 AM

Sebz is down Thursday next week, so ill have my final tune done, with dyno sweets from
water to air - air to air and air to air with this new impeller.

milkcow500 06-14-2016 09:25 AM

I'm logging 4th gear WOT runs today for Seb. I'm going to see what he says in regards to the progress we are making, but for now, it's looking pretty good.

Unless something ***** on me, I should be on the dyno on sunday. The dyno runs low, but I can compare to my previous numbers at least, since it was done on the same dyno.

Supercharger Rebuilds » Vortech V1, V2, V3, V4, V5, V7, V9, V24, V28

this guy makes them, does all kinds of stuff with these blowers.

StillenZ84 06-14-2016 10:11 PM

So my fuel pump failed today and left me stranded on the side of the road. Luckily I had my old one from along time ago, the 255, that I was able to put in and get myself home. Was quite the task on the side of the road but got it done. Anyone else ever have their Stealth 340 go out on them?

TopgunZ 06-15-2016 07:21 AM

I swapped my pump on the side of the road twice..lol.. Once in my 350 but it turned out to be a fuse that somehow tied into the fuel system ignition. The second time was when a solder joint broke loose on me. Never turned out to be the pump though.

If i were you I would take this as a sign to drop the Walbro 450 in there.

Are you going to be Dyno delayed yet again?!

That would be a nightmare to do. It is a bad enough job in a garage.

Is that the billet T trim impeller? Any time frame on when you are going to install/dyno it? I'm assuming you aren't getting the scroll machined too right?

Do you have links to those threads you saw in regards to this blower/impeller combo on other platforms? I could only find a couple, but they didn't offer any concrete data.

impeller is installed, took a few mins this morning.

Used a 2 claw puller to press it on.

Dyno is next Thursday for me. This impeller actually looses a half to a full psi up top, but the mustang guys are saying the boost is doubled down low. which im all for because im running a 2.75" pulley on my blower.

This is a T-trim billet machined for the S trim blower.

I need a fuel system really bad, the full custom blower setup will be done over the winter time.

Edit: im sure I could find them, but we will have concrete data on this impeller by Thursday! He also offer 150$ refund- for before and after dyno sheets.

milkcow500 06-15-2016 12:02 PM

Let me know how it goes. I'm on the dyno this sunday with the SCI + 9psi pulley. I'll be tuning for flex fuel next month, so if anything, I'll swap impellers then.

TopgunZ 06-15-2016 12:23 PM

Does it loose a half to full psi up top from the SCI trim or SI trim? Because if its from the SCI trim then you are down 2.5 to 3 psi of what you would be at if you went with the SI trim instead.

EVOHUNTER 06-15-2016 12:44 PM

Honestly I don't know, ill call him up and see.

But I really don't care what psi I see this year, I just want the car driveable.

Once this is figured out, ill move towards doing the full custom blower setup with the machine scroll, ceramic bearings, and the T-trim volute.
