whoo hoo, got a call from Nissan consumers affairs and they told me they can't do anything about this and that i would have to deal with the dealership myself! they are SO much help ::sarcasm:: the reason they give is that window tint is aftermarket that the dealership does, so its out of nissan's hands.

The dealership told consumer affairs that they won't do any additional repairs (even though they failed to properly fix it the first 3 times....), so I don't even know what's the point in me trying to persue this...

note to self: never getting any service or future vehicles from Courtesy Nissan of Richardson again.

I had the same problem with corner peeling. the windows crack up and down when the door opens so I unhooked the window buttons and got them retinted. Waited 4 days hooked the buttons back up. Problem fixed

tell whoever is tinting your windows to put some extra heat around the edges as the window moves, i have had no problems... I also didn't have the dealership do it.

I've had this problem for the past 4 weeks, this is such an inconvinience. I'm going back tomorrow to get my windows done again for the 3rd time... it keeps on pealing off. Can i just somehow unhook the window going up and down when i open my door and leave it like that for a week... will it hurt anything if i keep driving the car during this condition. dont want to break anything

Don't know. The guys who put mine on put it below the rubber line. They said they have to do it for Mustangs, too. It was no big deal to them that the window went down.

You can push in a little button on the door frame (frame of the car) and it will stay up. Don't know if you can rig something up to hold it down, though.

As soon as you start to unscrew the door button it breaks the ground and causes the windows to go fully up. This is what we did to tint my windows. Make sure they use a quality tint and heat it up properly. I did get mine done at the dealer where I work, and it's been nearly 2 months with no problems. Rolled the windows down two days later and everything.

You can also just put a piece of tape over the button. My installer did that and said he has never had a problem with auto sealing doors. He also did say that he heats up the bottom a bit more to make sure it sticks.

I have life time warranty on my tint, and the tint guy had to redo the driver side. I believe he said it is a common problem with the z because there is something inside of the door that wears on the corner of the tint (heat gun was used both times). The guy didn't have to remove the door panels. He only removed the inside weather strip(not sure what its called). Mine slowly began to peel after a couple of months, but i think he trimmed a bit more the second time so the tint wouldn't touch that area. I am not 100% sure if what he said was true lol, but it isn't peeling anymore. I hope this helps.

FYI...the peeling issue can be avoided the first time you get your windows tinted. Below the weather strip on both doors, there is a little plastic piece in the front corner. The tint must be installed inside (underneath, depending on how you look at it) this plastic piece or else the tint will peel every time. If you pull back the weather stripping, you can see what I am talking about.

Driver's side window was peeling. I just cut the loose part with a razor. So it's missing a triangle in the front corner, but nobody notices. It at least keeps it from getting worse and from having to re-tint (previous owner, some faraway shop did it)
