I have run them with no issues in the past, but when the guy who built my car told me specifically to never run a pulley because one of them destroyed his motor I listen.

Granted, that was on a turbo setup making 700whp, so any issue gets magnified. On a NA car I wouldn't expect any issues since the margin for error is much higher.

Honestly, if you want to lose rotating mass get a flywheel first.
I understand. My Z isn't a track car so I'm not hugely invested in losing every oz I can from everywhere I can shave it, but at the end of the day more HP is more HP.

This is ridiculous. I hope the mods ban him form the forum for this. I'll be contacting PayPal now.

GTM isn't banned yet, so I doubt NST will have anything happen to them.

I just sent this to Mike...

Mike,
We noticed the thread on the 370z forum was closed for the group buy. I'm writing this on behalf of the 370z community to understand what is going on with the pulleys that we paid for back in January. If you are not able to fulfill the orders please issue us refunds. If you plan to complete the products, please provide us a production update with estimated delivery date.

The members of the 370z community are not pleased with the way this is being handled to say the least. I'm hoping you and I can resolve this via email exchange, however, members are prepared to file complaints for refunds.

I look forward to your response.
Nick

We only asked for updates and none of us were out of line doing so. I’m only asking that NST is transparent with us. However, it’s been 3+ months… You can’t tell me that an anticipated group buy should take that long for manufacturing. Yes – I do want a quality product and I expect one. Don’t hang that sh!t over my head when I ask for updates.

… I’m more so pissed off that the thread is closed though.

Response from Mike...

Hi Nick

Thank you for your interest in our site and products, we appreciate it.

I did not close our threads on the forums.

The latest update on this GB:

Pulleys have gone through the first round of quality control as of yesterday. Machining checked out and we are moving into the final stages of production, including anodizing and the next rounds of QC over the next few days.

Our current ETA (if the next steps go well) is apx 15-20 days. We are getting very close.

We appreciate the continued support and continue to ask for the patience of the members and the community as production continues.

Thanks again, good luck and have fun with all your projects!

My reply to him...

Mike,
Thanks for the response. Much appreciated. Do you know who or why your threads were closed on the forum? It's not just the pulley thread that was closed and the perception from the community is that they were closed by NST to avoid responding to inquiries.

So the end of May?

At least he didn't add in the usual butthurt over being questioned.

It's still ******** because on 4/14 he posted:
First round of QC looked good today. Should be finalized within the next few days. If all is well, we proceed with anodizing and final QC.

Many thanks for the patience and support, ladies and gents.

And now hes saying:
Pulleys have gone through the first round of quality control as of yesterday (4/21)

I'm getting a refund. I'm tired of being BSd. I'll talk to my friend at Stillen and see if I can get a GB going with them.

Yeah, that makes it look even worse. But he was probably out at some drift event so you'll just have to wait, right? And here's some tits to distract you.

I ******* hate shady vendors. Why do 95% of group buys end like this?

I can't speak for NST's customer service, as I bought my pullies from a forum member, but the pullies themselves are very nice in quality and I've had them installed for about 15k miles now. Sad to see this happening though. Hopefully NST chimes in.

I've emailed and chatted with a few of you today, so I will copy and paste this last email here for everyone...

Thank you for your interest in our site and products, we appreciate it.

I have no reason to avoid you guys, hence the many pages of conversation and discussion in our various threads on the forums, and these email exchanges.

Unfortunately, the manufacturing process takes some time. No one hates these delays more than I do. Please understand that I am very sincere in saying this. I don't know exactly what else I can say to convey this message to you guys.

NST is not here to steal from you.

I can not give you exact daily updates, I can not tell you exactly where we are with each individual pulley during the process. Each step requires several days, if not weeks, to complete when you are dealing with a large batch.

We are moving forward with production and I hope to have meaningful updates as we move forward, when they are available. As I said in my previous email, we are apx 15-20 days away right now.

I hope the issue with the closed threads is resolved ASAP so I can post these updates myself moving forward, as I have done in the past.

Please understand that disputes with banks and credit card companies only slow the process for everyone involved and only make it more difficult for us to do business and deliver product.

Thanks again, good luck and have fun with all your projects!

As I have done so many times, I continue to ask for the support and patience of the community. If you are not directly involved, please respect my request to refrain from adding unnecessary fuel to the fire in these threads.

Please understand that this will be my one and only reply in this thread, while we try to resolved the "closed thread" issue.

NST - Please take note:

When you advertise a product, and a date of shipping, you are creating a de-facto contract to deliver said goods on promise of payment. When someone such as myself pays you for a short shifter, we are doing so on the premise that it will be completed and shipped by the promised date. I understand that sometimes there are delays, however when multiple people have already paid you and are waiting for their product, we expect (rightfully so) daily detailed updates as to why we don't have the product yet, and when we can expect it. Do you have 5 done and are waiting on the next 5 to be completed? OK, ship out the first 5, let those people know, and let the next 5 know an exact date they can expect theirs to ship. The lack of CLEAR communication is what has me worried about you.

Please keep in mind that come Friday if you walk into your boss' office and ask for your paycheck, and he told you it wasn't ready yet, you would be upset. You worked all week for the promise of payment, and that payment was expected by a particular date. If he told you that you would probably get paid next week, maybe the week after, how would you feel? Remember that the next time you take hard earned money from people promising a product on a date and don't deliver.

And "Please understand that disputes with banks and credit card companies only slow the process for everyone involved and only make it more difficult for us to do business and deliver product. " is pretty weak. Nobody back out or things will get worse for everybody.
